Media Party ratify latest Conservative Party as genuine

The Conservative Party could be on the road to recovery.

It elected a new board at the weekend, the first positive move since the party collapsed earlier this year following the controversial resignation of leader Colin Craig.

The brief annual general meeting held on Saturday wasn’t without drama, however.

Mr Craig’s erstwhile colleague and now bitter foe John Stringer tried to get in but was turned away.

Police were called and defused the situation.

Mr Stringer says he and his wife were evicted.

“Mrs Stringer was shoved from the room by Craig’s staff.”

He has previously claimed the meeting was organised by Mr Craig’s supporters and employees.

The meeting elected a board and an interim chairman, Leighton Baker.

“The new board was democratically elected,” Mr Baker said after the meeting.

“Colin Craig stepped down from the leadership on June 19 and is not involved in the new board.”

Under the party’s constitution, the board elects the leader.

It hasn’t reached that point yet, but Mr Stringer believes Mr Craig will be asked to again lead the party.

It’s kind of remarkable (it isn’t?) that the media are folding. ? Well, I know it’s boring. ?It’s been boring from the beginning. ?It’s only the sheer level of banality that’s made it worth following.

On what basis did Stringer get trespassed? ?

He is a party member. ? Possibly not for much longer, now that the lunatics are running the asylum.

But it is a serious question. ? Stringer has not acted in breach of the party constitution. ?He is simply single-minded in the belief that Colin Craig is not suitable to be involved with the party, and has been on a long mission to get an opportunity for Mr Craig and himself to square off and debate the salient points.

This will now happen in the setting of the defamation action and counter claim.

So I ask again: ?what sort of democratic party can trespass a legitimate member from an official AGM?

The reason stated was that he simply wasn’t wanted there.

Worse, they got the police to enforce the trespass order by telling the police lies once they turned up in person. ? Stringer was told by police that if he wasn’t willing to leave peacefully, he would be arrested.

Political parties always have a broad range of opinions among the members. ? By all means, votes during board meetings, AGMs and such will set the direction. ? But they should not, and cannot eject people by ganging up in this way.

Yet it happened.

If Mr Craig is smart, he will not install himself as party leader. ?Instead, he will place a media savvy but 100% trustworthy lieutenant in nominal charge of the party. ?He already owns the board, he doesn’t actually need to be there.

He’s going to be busy enough running his company and dealing with all the court, tribunal and police questions, and until that’s out of the way, he’ll be electoral poison to the Party. Stringer has the skills, the energy and the contacts to continue his onslaught of media stories on Mr Craig based on hard facts, documentation and access to years and years of insider knowledge.

The Conservative Party in the hands of Colin Craig is simply not going anywhere, although Mr X might ” [expletive deleted] disagree”.
