At least 35 people have been killed in multiple attacks in Paris, including one near the Stade de France sports stadium and another at a concert venue.

Fifteen of the victims have been killed at the Bataclan concert hall in eastern Paris, with a further 100 people taken hostage.

Others have been killed in explosions near the stadium just north of Paris, where a France-Germany football match was taking place on Friday night, and in a restaurant shooting.

President Francois Hollande, Prime Minister Manuel Valls and Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve are holding crisis talks at the interior ministry. …

France has been on edge since deadly attacks by Islamic extremists on satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo and a kosher grocery that left 20 dead, including the three attackers.

The restaurant targeted, Le Carillon, is in the same general neighbourhood as the Charlie Hebdo offices.

US security officials believe the series of attacks were likely coordinated, based on initial reports.

“This clearly looks like a coordinated series of attacks,” a person familiar with developing intelligence assessments told Reuters.

Oh sure.  But nothing to do with Islam, right?
