National MPs mad as a cut snake about Nikki Kaye

For months Nikki Kaye has been bullying National MPs to get in behind “her” mayoral candidate and her organisation “Auckland Future”.

Nikki never told them who the candidate was or what the plan was, just “Trust Me, I Know what I am doing”.

Now Nikki’s candidate, Victoria Crone, has been announced the National MPs are very, very annoyed.

Crone’s policy free campaign launch was so amateur that it reflects exceptionally badly on her advisors, Nikki Kaye and Michelle Boag. Crone announced with no policy, she announced with no vision for Auckland, she announced by press release from a gmail account without a phone number on it so media could call her, and she has made improbable statements about liking the water because she is a pisces that put her into Colin Craig territory. Crone’s web site is entirely vacuous, and Labour are taking the opportunity to hammer National MPs about their alleged standard bearer.

This has annoyed the hell out of National MPs in Auckland. Those who thought it was a good idea to have National endorse a candidate are seeing how Nikki Kaye has proven that it is not. Kaye has set a political novice up to fail, and fail badly, by not ensuring the most basic of campaign tasks were undertaken.

Like many National MPs, Nikki Kaye mistakes John Key’s incredible political talent and vote-winning ability for their own talent and vote-winning ability. Without John Key many National MPs would lose their seats, starting with Nikki Kaye.

Now that John Key has issued an edict that no National MPs can endorse any candidate it is looking more and more like the 9th floor knew something that Nikki Kaye didn’t. It could even be a factor in her slide down the cabinet rankings as well.
