Face of the day

Forgive me for being crude but in many ways today’s face of the day represents Europe.

A left wing activist has bared all to a Norwegian documentary crew about his rape at the hands of a Somalian migrant, and his despair at seeing the man deported.

An active member of the Norwegian Socialist Left Party (SV) who described himself as an ardent “feminist and anti-racist” explained the difficulty he experienced accepting that he had been anally raped by a male migrant. He said he didn’t blame the man for the attack, and regretted the fact he had been sent back to Somalia.

Describing the process of reconciling his personally held beliefs, young SV activist Karsten Nordal Hauken said the experience left him “feeling nothing”, reports Norwegian state broadcaster NRK.

Attacked as a young man, his rapist was convicted six months after the fact with DNA evidence removed from Mr. Hauken’s body at the time of his rape, and fingerprints taken from his bedroom. The Somalian male was later caught when he was found to be carrying a knife in public and his fingerprints were a match.

Although he protested his innocence and claimed he had been enjoying a consensual relationship with Mr. Hauken, the migrant was sentenced to four and a half years in prison. After the completion of his jail term, the man was deported back to Somalia, something which his victim greeted with mixed emotions.

Speaking to NRK ahead of a new documentary series about young people in Norway dealing with mental illness, Mr. Hauken said of the moment when he was told by telephone at work that his attacker was to be deported: “I was a bit taken by surprise by this message.

“But I remained calm enough to tell the manager that I had to go. The tears, they came the moment I sat in the car. I felt a relief and joy that he was going away forever. I felt that the Norwegian government took on the responsibility to exercise the ultimate revenge, like an angry father who confronts a child abuser.

“But I also got a strong sense of guilt and responsibility. I was the reason why he should not have to leave Norway, and heading for a very uncertain future in Somalia. He had already served his sentence in prison. Should he now be punished again? And this time much harder?”

Mr. Hauken found himself unable to blame his attacker, saying “he is not responsible for his actions”. Rather than the rapist being in charge of his own destiny, he said he was merely “a product of an unjust world. A product of an upbringing marked by war and deprivation”, and said that rather than the attack being sexually motivated, it was all about “exerting power” over him.

The attack had not in any way dulled his left-wing politics, either. Mr. Hauken said: “I stand rock solid in my opinion that people like him need our help. I want us to continue to help refugees with such a background… For I am a human being first, and not a Norwegian. No, I’m part of the world, and the world is unfortunately unfair”.

This is not the first example of leftist political activists allowing their close proximity to the migrant communities which they strive so hard to defend to cause them harm. Breitbart London reported last year on the near-fatal stabbing of an open borders, pro mass migration activist in Dresden.

Standing outside a pizza-parlour, the student was jumped and stabbed in the back by a gang of North Africans. He said that the event had left him feeling “very sad”, and he hoped it wouldn’t be used to demonise migrants.

Another young activist fallen victim to their own politics was one woman volunteering at a migrant camp on the French-Italian border. While the migrants living at the facility held a party, she was cornered in a shower-block and gang raped by a group of African males, her screams unheard over the music.

Conscious that her attack could be used to damage the peaceful reputation of migrants, she decided to cover up her own rape.

Whilst I feel for those that have had to endure these attacks at the hands of what I can only consider to be animals, what I cannot reconcile is the mindset that they ‘forgive’ their attackers, not for their own healing but because of their utopian ideals that will then allow these animals to remain where they would be free to attack again the citizens of the country that has taken them in for a better life, and have that opportunity thrown back in their faces in the most abhorrent way. I can only hope that the majority will see through this left wing ideology for what it is and stem the tide of hate from cultures and religion infecting Europe.

    • Dog Breath

The Aussies have shown how to sort this out including the deportation of people whose character is not up to standard.
Holding people to account for their actions works just look at the surge of student loan repayments from those overseas as a consequence of one action.
      Appeasement has never worked.

    • phronesis

I disagree strongly with your description of the attacker as an animal, although I understand the motivation of course.

The victims in these incidents actually believe that their attackers are dumb animals. That is why they believe that their attackers cannot be held morally responsible for their crimes. To act as these victims do, as though another human being is no more than an animal, will doom all civilisation. Their attackers are not animals, they are fully human, and they should be held accountable and punished as such.

  • Mark156

There are none so blind as those that cannot see.Being anally raped still isn’t enough to change this persons views,I wonder what has to happen to do so.

Speaking to NRK ahead of a new documentary series about young people in Norway dealing with mental illness”,
A classic case of the mentally ill running the asylum.

  • localnews

Full of humanity for the Somalis, but very little humanity towards his fellow Norweigans who he is not interested in protecting.

  • 10cents

Seriously?? He gets raped up the butt by a refugee and then feels bad for his rapist and makes excuses for him?

If that really is the attitude of European men then the takeover is already complete. Job done.

  • Uncle Bully

Nice Christian attitude. Turn the other cheek and all that…..

    • kereru

Sorry, that is manifestly wrong. Turning the other cheek is not appropriate in this kind of situation.

Christ taught that His followers are to give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s – which effectively means the separation of church and State. In other words, the victim may personally forgive his attacker but he should let the State mete out the penalty for the crime he has committed. All Christians must simultaneously obey the Law and the 10 Commandments from which they arose.

Jesus was no limp-wristed, wimpy pacifist – His teachings were radical and the Christian life is not an easy ride as some believe. Turning the other cheek means putting aside your pride and overcoming your natural instinct for revenge. Hard to do, but easy when you know Who ultimately has the final say over all things.

      • spanishbride

When I was at Catholic school I had a discussion with a teacher about turning the other cheek. I pointed out that turning it once and forgiving ( for my sake not theirs ) was fine but if I was hit again ( by the same person metaphorically ) I was not so keen to turn the other cheek as that would make me a doormat.

Hit me once shame on you, hit me twice shame on me. I said God would expect me to stand up for myself not meekly stand there and let them do the same thing over and over.
The problem with ‘ tolerance ‘ is people interpret it as meaning that we cannot do anything to protect ourselves from harm. That is insanity.

      • KatB

People seem to think forgiveness means to let people off. You can forgive people for wrong doing but they still need to be held accountable. When your own children disobey you, you still love them and forgive them but if you’re a good parent you still discipline them appropriately. This helps them develop and get on in life. You discipline them because you love them. Why people seem to think being tolerant and “Christian like”, means giving people a free pass, is beyond me. Turning a blind eye to wrong doings is not Christian like at all, in my eyes.

      • Uncle Bully

I was trying to be funny with a tongue in cheek comment. The reality is that if that Norwegian clown really does regret the deportation of his attacker, then he deserves another reaming.

    • Totara

People have misunderstood the whole ‘turn the other cheek’ thing for centuries. What it actually means is to actively stand up against evil from a more powerful opponent — but to be smart about it at the same time.

A common way of hitting, when there was a clear difference in power, was backhanded: back of the right hand to the inferior person’s right cheek. So a Roman would hit a Jew this way; or a master hit a slave; or a lousy husband hit a wife. But turn the other cheek, and now the hitter has to strike in the way that they would fight an equal. They no longer have clear dominance.

Similarly for ‘walking the extra mile’, or giving ‘the shirt off your back’.

It’s all about being smart about standing up against a more powerful opponent, and without being treated as a doormat.

I highly recommend the explanation at:

      • spanishbride

I love learning new information like that. How fascinating. It was an act of challenge then to turn the other cheek.Knowing these historical facts changes everything.

    • Sponsz

I interpreted this as a humorous comment, referring to the cheeks of one’s buttocks …

Yes, as soon as I heard about this case I thought that this man was a symbol of Europe. They no longer have the instinct to defend themselves, it really does seem possible that centuries of European civilisation are about to come to an end.

  • Huia

This sort of thing makes me sick to my stomach.
What is going on with these Liberals? turning the other cheek is a fine idea but human nature surely must play a part too.
I can imagine a sense of relief, justice being served when the Somali feral rapist gets his sentence.
Definitely not forgiveness for some mongrel who breaks into your house and brutally sodomises and traumatises you for life.
I wish the Liberals would stop making excuses for this kind of behavior, its all wrong, this was a brutal attack and should be punished accordingly.
Mr Somalia hasn’t been punished twice you fool, being deported is a continuation of the punishment, be thankful your justice system works like that and you aren’t expected to face your attacker with no supporters of your own in an “Whanau” situation, you have to listen to the Whanau telling you what a good boy he really is, then roll out all the reasons you should forgive and forget about the attack while he sits there smirking at you while they make you feel the attack was your fault.
Dear God save me from these fools, is this victim still wanting to increase the illegal immigrant quota I wonder.

  • Eiselmann

This guy might be at the extreme end of the white privledge guilt ridden liberal leftie but he’s a product of thinking that dominates the left , who more and more believe in all rights and no responsibilities .

So while he might regret that his rapist got sent home, if he got what he advocates for he’d know what regret really was.

    • OneTrack

Is he really at the extreme end if the range? Merkel seems far more extreme.

  • Jackanapes

With a mind set like this, it would not be surprising to hear, that in the spirit of reconciliation and forgiveness, that he is advocating the release of Anders Brevik, who a couple of years ago, gunned down seventy or so of his socialist buddies.
In any event, this sort of attitude shows that Northern Europe if probably doomed to a total loss of freedom in probably a shorter time than we can imagine.

    • phronesis

You’re missing the point, Brevik is white and thus morally accountable for his actions.

  • Duchess of Pork

Mr Hauken is a perfect example of the attitude termed the racism or bigotry of low expectations whereby the Left are willing to give Muslims a free pass on behaviour they would otherwise condemn because they view Muslims as a persecuted minority, victims of white imperialist aggression and subjugation. Any extremist belief or action by a Muslim is therefore justifiable, understandable and certainly not their fault. The left demands that we do not question the barbaric practices of Islam for to do so would imply that we westerners with our doctrines of basic human rights and equality before the law are better. And that would be racist because the Left conflate faith with race. Mr Hauken is clearly deluded if he believes he is “anti-racist”; this attitude is the most perverse form of racism which the Left employ to full effect in their attempt to intimidate and silence debate. I wonder if Mr Hauken would feel the same if it had been his child that was subjected to this appalling attack.

  • oldmanNZ

I wonder, if I did the same thing to him as a tourist, would he feel guilty and unjust if I get deported?

If he does, then he is just a racist, If not, he enjoys it.

  • phronesis

To suggest that a man is not responsible for his own actions is to believe that man is less than a man.

    • SaggyNaggy

Most Leftists are highly racist people. It’s their very refusal to acknowledge the dignity of other races that compel them to give them special treatment to compensate for the inherent inferiority they perceive.

  • OneTrack

This idiot is happy to not deport the Somali, thereby putting his neighbours and their children in harms way. What a great guy.

  • herewego

    Stockholm Syndrome in Norway?

If its against the law its against the law – pity is misguided and crazy.
The lowering of the bar is a real risk as to what the law is and who/how it gets enforced

We’re looking a “interesting” times ahead – the story of the gang rape being hidden is shocking. All the work put in re equality is being given away by people choosing not to speak up.

Whats the saying – road to Hell being paved with good intentions – never more true in reading that.

  • rexabus

White liberal off-kilter thinking at its finest. He couldn’t possibly own such a base feeling as wanting to deal with someone like this in a realistic punitive way. No, diddums has to get all torn and twisted about it. Oh well, good riddance to him. Idiots like him will be amongst the 1st to be subjugated when the muslims take control. Christians to the lions. I guess other people might see it differently, but when I see pictures like these, I don’t see a crowd who want to play happy families with the local whiteys

  • Orca

Why doesn’t he practice what he preaches, and go to Somalia to help the poor and oppressed? Perhaps he can catch up with his old mate and apologise in person.

  • XCIA

I wonder if his attitude to the Somali would be the same had he contracted aids as a result of his encounter?

  • Sponsz

Give the Somali some credit! If he had a sexual emergency and absolutely had to anally rape someone, surely it is better that he choses a left wing activist than a young child, as so many other illegal immigrants have done.
