Face of the day

Today’s face of the day is Ava, a little girl born without a brain but not without a personality. She is loved and treasured by her adoptive family and her story is one that is pro-life in every sense of the term.

…By 2013 they had four biological children and one adopted son. Then, in October 30th, 2015 (Allison’s birthday), she received a call from a friend, asking if they would consider adopting a pregnant woman’s baby whom she could not take care of.

They accepted.

On the day the pregnant woman went into labor, the entire family packed up the car and headed to Duke hospital. But on the way, she received another phone call… apparently this pregnancy would result with two babies. What wonderful news!

The family was elated and of course wanted to keep both twins. But then came a third call. But this one wasn’t filled with good news. One of the babies had been born with only a brain stem and might not make it through the night.

The story from there is absolutely heart-wrenching, beautiful and inspiring.

There are some people who are just ‘decent’. I have no truck with their religious spin on everything that happens in life but I am sure glad there are people like them around.

Their faith in God’s love for them is central and is reflected in how they live their lives. Their abundant love and joy is truly inspiring. A heartwarming start to the day. Thanks SB.

The kindness and goodness radiates from that family. What lovely people.
Does the heart good to watch something like this, it puts some perspective and positivity back into things when there is so much darkness through out the world at the moment.
