Daily dose of awwww

PUPILS at a North Lincolnshire primary school showed immense kindness when they let their classmate and friend who has Down’s syndrome win a sports day race.

Rory Kettles, 11, took part in the sports day at Wrawby St Mary’s CofE Primary School on Thursday, June 9.

All the year six boys decided to come joint second to let their friend win the race.

Michelle Drury, a parent of one of the boys, said: “Being their last sports day, Rio and his classmates decided they wanted their friend Rory to remember his last running race by coming first.

“They all joined together to come joint second.

“The heart of my boy and his friends in his class never cease to amaze me.”

Michelle said the children have learnt “great empathy” as there are two children in their year with special needs.
