Trevor Mallard reacts under pressure

As reported on Whaleoil, Chris Bishop is contesting Hutt South against Trevor Mallard and is doing so well that Trevor’s return to parliament next year is hardly a certainty.

A journo was rating various political figures’ Twitter habits and found that Bishop was one of the more entertaining, informing and effective communicators.

As part of that article, the journo reported Bishop’s tweet proving the NZ Labour party had petulantly blocked him, petulantly, from following their Twitter feed.

I know – it already sounds like lemon-sucking sore losers acting like kids. But, Trevor Mallard manages to up the ante:

We all know Mallard is a nasty piece of work with a very thin veneer of self control, and he’s proved it once again. Had Bishop been in front of him, he may very well have resorted to some biffo as he has in the past.

Our Arts, Lifestyle and Fitness blogger has noticed the same thing:

The more worried Mallard is that he is going to lose his seat, the nastier he gets.

The context is Chris Bishop pointing out with amusement that the official Labour Party twitter account has blocked him from following them.

Trevor seems to be obsessed with Chris. More and more of his tweets are about Chris. While most of what Chris posts to social media is about what is doing out in the Hutt Valley.

Mallard has the wrong temperament to be Speaker of the House, although it would be infinitely entertaining to see MPs niggle him and watch him strike out.
