Face of the Day

June 2015:

Ms Rankin told Radio New Zealand she is hurt and disappointed and that she had been worried for a long time.

She said Mr Craig would never be honest and she was tired of confidentiality being used within the party.

She said that “it was over for Colin Craig”, but she did not believe it was over for the Conservative Party.

Ms Ranking said she has no interest in the leadership.

Ms Rankin says “there were many, many things” that led her to be suspicious.

“It was the kind of behaviour people display all the time when they’re having an affair. Curtains were erected in whatever office they were in. The atmosphere – you could almost touch it. They disappeared for very long amounts of time.”

She said despite seeing numerous signals, Mr Craig would repeatedly tell her nothing was going on.

She says Mr Craig told her Rachel MacGregor had a mental illness, something he and his wife were helping her work through.

Ms Rankin then went on to meet with Mr Williams, who’d showed her the communications purporting to be from Mr Craig to Ms MacGregor.

But it was the text that read: “I slept well because I dreamt of being between your naked legs” which caused her to lose all confidence in Mr Craig.

“That text was the icing on the cake,” she told the court.

That text, the others, the letters, the poems and other material formed the basis for our allegations against Colin Craig, even though we only ever published the poem.

Somewhat amusingly, everyone is currently reporting it as the poem Colin allegedly wrote, but Colin has already taken ownership of it by trying to get Cam to pay $30,000 in royalties.

As you can see, Colin Craig and a straight line are complete strangers.

This case is going to get worse for him before it gets better, and that’s before Cam Slater and John Stringer have a go with all the new information that they are discovering through this court case.   Seems Mr Craig has been very selective in what he has disclosed to one party and not the other, even though it should have been disclosed to all.
