No chinky money for Labour

The architect behind the chinky names smear from Labour has now been appointed as their campaign chair.

That will be the end of any donations from people with chinky sounding surnames.

Labour MP Phil Twyford has been given a leading role in the party’s election campaign next year.

Twyford has been made Labour’s campaign chairman, which puts him charge of strategy for the election.

The Te Atatu MP was given the role because of his seniority in the caucus, his campaign experience and his strong performance in Parliament, especially in the housing portfolio.

He will also chair Labour’s campaign in a likely Mt Roskill by-election, which will be triggered if Labour’s Mt Roskill MP Phil Goff wins the Auckland mayoralty.

Labour’s general secretary Andrew Kirton has been given the job of campaign manager, a role previously held by UMR pollster David Talbot.

Ahhh…so no money and dodgy poll analysis that will continue now David Talbot is at UMR.

Knowing that David Talbot is at UMR explains the stupid reliance on their polling. Their polling will be exposed in coming days when we release our exclusive INCITE polling from Curia on favourability. Here’s a clue…it is nowhere near like that claimed by Little and UMR.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story. When he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet. Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet and, as a result, he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist who takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him, you can’t ignore him.
