Whaleoil readers not fooled by Craigs’ Show

Rebecca speaks her mind

I’m glad for Mrs Craig that she has found it in herself to behave as a good Christian wife. But this legal action is not about impressing your congregation or electorate. Mr Craig was both employer and party leader, with special responsibilities in both roles.

By way of example: John Key was pilloried for tugging on a pony tail, but he didn’t accidentally kiss his secretary and then send her yearning poems before scorning her, which is Craig’s version of events. Imagine if Key had done that. This is the sort of mirror Craig needs to hold up for himself rather than tortuous tales in which he was only a little bit naughty (and is forgiven) unlike all those others who were very naughty indeed so deserve 1.6 million pamphlets and/or to be sued.

The real victim here is MacGregor as these males indulge in their peeing contests. It was revealed in court yesterday that she already had to bring an injunction against a Craig henchman who is a professional counselor, after private matters revealed to that person appeared in an anonymous attack blog.

Mr Craig said in court that he is unsure who the blog’s Mr X is this time, but a Judge was sufficiently convinced to grant the injunction and the blog was duly removed. The injuncted party is the same person who “moderated” Craig’s pamphlet sent out to 1.6m households and I understand he was in court to support Craig except when MacGregor gave evidence when the injunction presumably denied his presence.

Talk about dirty politics. Even if Craig’s version is entirely true, she is a young woman who didn’t want publicity, who honored a non-disclosure agreement and now finds herself accused in court with no opportunity to defend herself against presumably new and unfamiliar slurs. Yuck.

Further to previous: I see that Mr Craig’s supporter [Steve Taylor] previously had another blog forcibly closed after personal attacks on Family Court lawyers, including pictures of lawyers’ children posted online with messages calling their mother a bitch and a silly cow.

Now I see that this person was a Conservative Party List candidate who was described by a prominent QC as “not fit to enter parliament” after the above episode.

Worse- at the time, the MSM reported that it actually was Colin Craig who ordered the blog to be taken down- but yesterday in Court he testified that he suspected but was not sure who wrote it. In which case, how could he order it to be taken down?

You could not make this stuff up. I shudder to think what the jury makes of all this.

Agreed.  Mr Craig has made numerous assertions that are going to stand unchallenged because the person he claims said and did those things no longer has a chance to refute them.

We can but hope the jury is taking all of that into account when they deliberate.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story. When he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet. Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet and, as a result, he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist who takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.
