You can have a Maori or Chinese or Pasifika student association but you better dare not have a European one

Auckland Universtiy has a Maori Students Association, a Pasifika Students Association, a Chinese Students Association and many other student associations including a Muslim Student Association.

But the creation of a European Student Association has caused outrage amongst the snowflakes and Susan Devoy who has said she will be watching this group very closely indeed.

The Race Relations Commissioner says she will “keep an eye on” a student club which is using symbols also used by white supremacist groups.

The European Students Association has been established at Auckland University and has some fearing it’s a white nationalist group.

The group will be included in next week’s orientation week, despite objections from students. The university has allowed the group to hold a stall and recruit members at the Clubs Expo.

The group’s Facebook page includes Celtic symbols used by white supremacist groups, and paintings depicting the unification of Germany and the colonisation of New Zealand in the 19th century.

It has also posted “our pride is our honour and loyalty”, a statement similar to “my honour is called loyalty”, a common translation of the Nazi SS slogan.

Race Relations Commissioner Dame Susan Devoy says she will keep an eye on the group.

“I am a Kiwi with European heritage and I’m very proud of my Irish roots – but being proud of my heritage doesn’t mean limiting the rights of anyone else.”

What have they done yet? Oh, that’s right nothing…but it’s the potential.

We now have the Race Relations Commissioner basically monitoring this group in case they do something that might upset some people.

Here’s the thing it is ok to have pride in being Maori. It is ok to have pride in your Chinese heritage. It is ok to have pride in being Muslim.

But if someone dares to say they have pride in being European then they are literally a Nazi.

Nevermind that the group’s founder says they are nothing of the sort.

The president of the student club which is using symbols also used by white supremacist groups says it has been misunderstood.

The man, who won’t give his name for safety reasons, is the head of the European Students Association established at Auckland University, which some fear is a white nationalist group.

“We aren’t Nazis, white supremacists, racists, fascists,” he told NZME.

“We completely condemn all of that. We aren’t any of that.”

The man says Pacific, Maori and Asian students have cultural groups, and Europeans have the right to have their own cultural group as well.

He says the group aims to recruit both “European students” and anyone else who is “interested in European culture”.

The group’s Facebook page includes Celtic symbols used by white supremacist groups, and paintings depicting the unification of Germany and the colonisation of New Zealand in the 19th century.

Ahh…yeah because without Abel Tasman and James Cook there wouldn’t even be a university for snowflakes to attend. Universities are basically a European invention, as are all the modern conveniences we use in everyday life. But dare to celebrate being European and all of a sudden we are literally Hitler.

What a sad pathetic country we have become. We are destroying ourselves from within with this sort of nonsense.

Even if they were Nazis they should still be allowed to have a group, mainly so we can laugh at them. This call for banning or this or that because someone might be offended is offensive in and of itself. The AUSA is not better with their statements.

The Auckland University Students’ Association (AUSA) is disappointed that a potentially offensive organisation will be allowed at the university’s orientation, despite serious student concerns of racist material.

AUSA confirmed it has received complaints about the group and has met the University Proctor to relay those concerns.

They haven’t said anything, done anything…all these wankers are complaining about is that they MIGHT say something or do something,

I find Islam offensive to my Christian beliefs, I wonder how far I’d get with Susan Devoy if I laid a complaint. They’d probably try to do me over for hate speech or some other thought crime.

It is sad that universities have become the first places to succumb to anti-freedom of speech actions. Yet their professors and lecturers all claim, some even taking legal action to protect their academic freedoms, that their rights are more important than anyone elses. Those freedoms are in fact being eroded by their own actions and those of the universities.
