You cannot address an issue if you won’t acknowledge that the issue exists

Islam is unique in the West as it is consistently treated with kid gloves. No other religion or religious community is treated the way Islam and Muslims are treated. We are expected to walk on eggshells around anything to do with Islam. It is the only religion I know of where people are afraid to draw the originator of the religion. In fact, fear is the one thing that sets Islam apart from every other religion introduced to Western civilisation. It is a religion that even its supporters fear and for good reason.

I remember in the 1990s, when society sought to debate the inherent issues with child sexual abuse in the Catholic church. It was never assumed or insinuated that all members of the Catholic community were child abusers. We did however, and quite rightly so, label the systemic abuse as Catholic abuse, as it was originating from this community. After all, how can you ever seek to address an issue if you’re not willing to acknowledge the issue exists in the first place. You need to identify it, and identify its fundamental characteristics and tenets. Only then can progress be made. I also don’t remember being called “Catholicophobic”, or “racist against Catholics” for wishing to discuss the issue.

When it comes to the present day, and abuse originating from elements of the Islamic community, British society is completely unwilling to facilitate honest and open discussion. But why is the entire British establishment unwilling to adequately distinguish the grooming epidemic as an issue originating from the Islamic community?

As you would expect in a white majority country, the overwhelming perpetrators of child sexual abuse in the UK are white British men. But the very specific issue of grooming is almost exclusively committed by male followers of the Islamic faith. In various communities where this has occurred, Muslim males only represent 2.5% – 5% of the population, yet they represent almost 100% of the perpetrators.

Grooming has very specific characteristics, that are distinct from what we would traditionally identify with child sexual abuse. For instance, scenarios whereby multiple members of the same family are involved in grooming and abusing a child. This is an incredibly unique characteristic, never seen before in Britain on this scale, and it specifically originates from the Islamic community.

A case from Rotherham is archetypal of this behaviour. For the perpetrators in this case, grooming and sexually and physically abusing a 13-year-old girl, was a family affair. The girl was passed around like a worthless piece of meat between brothers and cousins, to satisfy their own sordid desires.

In addition to the repugnant characteristic of familial participation and collaboration, what also identifies Muslim grooming as unique are its tenets of racism. The aforementioned 13-year-old was tormented and called a “white slag”. Racial abuse of this kind is inherent to Muslim grooming and widely reported by many of the victims…

If Muslim girls, in the thousands, were being targeted exclusively by white British men for grooming, then subjected to abhorrent sexual and physical abuse by brothers, fathers, uncles and cousins of the same family, while at the same time being racially abused, would there be media silence on the uniqueness and pure horror of these cases? Of course not. You could bet your bottom dollar that the BBC, Daily Mirror, Guardian and such like, would not only trenchantly condemn it, but would clearly identify it as anti-Muslim grooming, committed by racist white British men. And, they would be right to do so.

But when it comes to Muslim grooming, committed by elements of the Islamic community, society has mandated that it would somehow be racist to reconcile the behavioural patterns with the community that are exclusively committing them…

… it does demonstrate the lengths to which society will go to avoid being branded the totalitarian slur, “Islamophobia”…

The recent BBC drama, Three Girls, based on the true stories of Muslim grooming in Rochdale, refused to mention anything at all to do with Muslims or Islamic communities…

So where was the outcry from other elements of the media, wanting to know why this inadequate program refused to identify the Muslim and Islamic elements of grooming? Nowhere to be seen of course. What we did see, however, was an outpouring of, “this may whip up racial tensions”, “this is going to cause a rising tide of Islamophobia”, “this is going to promote far-right groups”. An absolutely dismal and depressing series of events, for which Britain should be ashamed.

The welfare of the poor innocent girls, the victims of these heinous crimes – an afterthought then? No! Try a no-thought, no-thought whatsoever. They wouldn’t wish to risk being called Islamophobic would they!
