Conservative party launched 2017 Campaign

I had signed up to attend the Launch Webinar, but external forces kept me away from the Internet Saturday evening on account of being in a car on East Cape with virtually no cellphone coverage.  As I suspected, it was later released as a Youtube Video, so we can now have a look what happened.

It was a fairly brave thing to do.  As there are no second takes.  I could pull the whole thing to its constituent parts and do some analysis on it, but I think I’ll leave you to make up your own mind.

The party has clearly had a lot of unwanted attention due to Colin Craig’s media and legal moves, so at this stage the party needs a chance to prove it is capable of putting together a campaign that will re-capture that 4-6 percent of the vote they could have had in 2014.

One notable absence among the topics was Citizen Initiated Binding Referendums.  Under its previous leader, the party promoted the idea that the people would need to be consulted more often, and when they spoke, their voice would not be able to be ignored by politicians as they had been around the Anti-smacking legislation.

No doubt the party will roll out its policies in more detail, so we can cover it then.
