Media once again show that it is always okay when Socialists do it

Conservative speaker Milo Yiannopoulos was a victim as a teenager of a paedophile priest. When he tried to make light of what was done to him and spoke of the experience flippantly the media crucified him and accused him of supporting paedophilia. Contrast that with how the media have romanticised the pedophilia that occurred when French President Emmanuel Macron’s at 15 was targeted by his 39-year-old married teacher for a predatory sexual relationship.

Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Trogneux, who is 25 years his senior.

IN Australia, Emmanuel Macron might seem the victim of a predator teacher. But in France, he and his teacher are the new “first couple”.

…The victory of this former Socialist economy minister should surprise us given how he met his future wife.

Macron was 15 and in a school play supervised by his 39-year-old teacher, Brigitte Trogneux, a married mother of three children.

Trogneux says she was bowled over. They fell in love. Macron’s parents were reportedly aghast and sent their son from Amiens to finish school in Paris.

But the then-16-year-old promised Trogneux they would marry and, she later recalled, they would that year “spend hours on the phone”. “Bit by bit, he defeated all my resistance.”

If a male teacher described his relationship with a 16-year-old female student in those terms, (that he was hunted by her) would anyone believe it?

Note: she claims he was the hunter.

Just when their love became more, Trogneux won’t say. She left her husband and, years later, married Macron.

He is now 39 and she 64. I suspect many voters in Australia, Britain and the US would consider this less a love story than a tale of potential abuse.

Just consider the fall of Milo Yiannopoulos.

The British journalist was an icon of the pro-Trump Right, preaching against identity politics in his “Dangerous Faggot” tour of American universities.

But then a YouTube clip emerged of Yiannopoulos boasting of having seduced his teacher, too. He was 17, he said, when he broke the resistance of a Catholic priest aged 29.

Foolishly, he said such relationships could be “some of the most important, enriching, incredibly life-affirming” for a boy.

Yiannopoulos became a pariah, denounced for appearing to excuse and enable paedophile priests.

…So why did the media damn Yiannopoulos, but accept Macron?

Was it that Yiannopoulos seduced a teacher who was a Catholic priest, not a woman?

Or was it that Macron and his wife have been discreet about the details of their relationship, while Yiannopoulos promoted one too dangerous to become a model?
