Why are the Evil Six still fighting?

The idiots in Clutha-Southland, known as the Evil Six, fought to get local MP Todd Barclay beaten in selection. They lost, and lost badly because Barclay was way better than them and their candidate and pretty much everyone in Clutha-Southland is sick of them and their petty vendettas.

This reached a new low with one of the Evil Six complaining that Barclay has a Federated Farmers rep in his office. This got a story up, but a story that basically just annoyed people.

A Federated Farmers executive member is working in Clutha-Southand MP Todd Barclay’s Gore electorate office.

Bernadette Hunt is the Meat and Fibre chairperson, and works as a senior MP support person in Barclay’s office.

So what? Another positive profile makes Bernadette Hunt sound like a bloody good person to have in an MP’s office, someone who is well embedded in the community and knows everyone. And she obviously has some ability or she would not have got elected a position at Federated Farmers.

Bernadette Hunt wears a lot of different hats.

She’s a farmer, a government employee, a mum, a wife, a community member, and most recently she has become the chairwoman for the meat and fibre section of Southland Federated Farmers.

All this silliness makes you wonder if the embittered former Bill English people need to get over themselves or they will get dealt a devastating blow.

The particular target will be the 2019 local government election, where Gore Councillor Glenys Dickson will be under pressure from those who are completely sick of her petty, childish infighting to vote her out. Word is that a campaign is already being planned to end Glenys’ delusions of relevance and importance, and her peers on council are looking forward to supporting the campaign to remove her.

Local government politicians almost always lose if they fight everyone and annoy everyone they serve with.

Sources in Clutha-Southland are saying that Cr Dickson completely fits this bill.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story. When he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet. Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet and, as a result, he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist who takes no prisoners.
