SBW joins Devoy/HRC in #GiveNothingToRacism campaign

So, Sonny Bill Williams is making a stand against hate and racism.

All Blacks superstar Sonny Bill Williams and New Zealander of the Year Taika Waititi are among a string of famous faces who have lent their support to an anti-racism campaign launched today.

The Human Rights Commission’s #GiveNothingToRacism campaign urges Kiwis to take a stand and refuse to spread intolerance.

Race Relations Commissioner Dame Susan Devoy said it was about giving nothing to intolerance – no acceptance and no welcome.

Hatred and extremism was becoming normal in some places and the campaign was about avoiding the same future in New Zealand, Dame Susan said.

“How we treat other people will define what kind of country we become and what kind of person a New Zealander is.

“We live in one of the most ethnically diverse nations on the planet – as well as one of the most peaceful. Whether it stays that way will depend on us, every New Zealander has a role to play in our future. Racism starts small but so too does hope.”

Excellent. I guess Sonny Bill Williams will have to stop giving support, giving time, and giving online promotion to his racist, antisemitic and homophobic mates.

Menk is an extremist preacher banned from six UK universities for saying that gay people are worse than animals. Sonny Bill Williams can’t wait to hang out with him next time. What a cool role model.

And we know all about Ebrahim Bham, we have covered that ratbag before.

Then there are his social media photos with assorted Islamic ratbags, supporters of Hamas and his own ISIS one finger symbols.

I wonder if anyone told Sonny Bill Williams that his co-star in the campaign is actually Jewish? Somehow I doubt it.

I wonder if anyone told Taika Waititi that his co-star likes hanging with antisemitic hate speech preachers? Somehow I doubt it.

Perhaps the Human Rights Commission should review and complete proper due diligence on Sonny Bill Williams before they plaster his name and image all over their campaign against hate and racism.
