Whaleoil Poll Result: How the budget affected Whaleoil readers

1100+ people responded to our poll the day after the Government’s 2017 budget.   We asked Whaleoil readers if it has affected their vote, their view and their support in general.

With 61% of Whaleoil readers rating the budget as Excellent/Good, and 60% of Whaleoil readers saying they will be better off after this budget, National has clearly been able to spread enough of the lollies and pork around to keep the majority of its supporters happy.

According to our poll, National have had a 9% boost to their support from Whaleoil readers because of the budget.

It will be interesting to see if that support can be maintained until election day, and if that compensates sufficiently for the support National has lost due to Key leaving, UNSC 2334, RMA pandering to Maori, Jihad on legal firearms owners and other issues yet to surface.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story.  And when he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet.   Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet, and as a result he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist that takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him.  But you can’t ignore him.
