How sweet it is to have the MSM picking up our stories again

After Dirty Politics, a memo must have been sent to the various media outlets because all of a sudden our stories were not being stolen by the MSM anymore. For years they had just helped themselves to them, usually without any attribution. Other stories we gave to them behind the scenes quite happily. Nicky Hager, of course, was determined to stop this as it is only okay when the left do it.

Well, this week not one but two of our original stories have made it to the mainstream media although only one article gave credit where credit was due. Perhaps we have done our time in the wilderness but then again the one that they gave us credit for wasn’t a political story so maybe that is the reason.

With our hundreds of thousands of readers, it doesn’t really matter if the MSM pick up what we put down but it still gave me a small thrill since I wrote both articles.

My article about the Auckland University Student Union trying to disaffiliate the Pro-Life club was published on August 17th.

Yesterday the Media finally caught up with an article on the 21st August.

The Media asked permission to use our photos and to take quotes from my article for their coverage of the rescue from Whale HQ. They even linked to my original story which was much appreciated as we always link to theirs on the blog. I really like the little video they created using the photos that were taken by both Whaleoil and the professional photographer I had made contact with who had also been present during the rescue.
