By George! He’s got it

Our stalwart George observes

[Yesterday] was a glorious, sunny spring day my beloved and I ventured over the bridge and walked the Milford to Takapuna waterfront track. It took about two hours to complete the round journey. I must say it has been a good few years since we have been to a North Shore beach. What I enjoyed most was being surrounded by beautiful scenery, a crystal clear ocean and expensive property that was the very exemplification of those who had achieved well in their life. Those that walked the beach with their children and dogs in tow appeared to be happy and contented with their lot. I would even venture say, there wasn’t a socialist in sight. This got me thinking.

What would happen if the horrendous eventuated; the socialists became the Government? And the only positive thing I could think of is that we may be spared of the relentless trashing of our lovely country. For Nine years we have been brow beaten by the left informing us, and the rest of the world, that we live in a third world country where poverty, starving children, homelessness, unemployment, a stuffed economy, pollution, a collapsing health system, animal cruelty, polluted rivers, waterways and oceans and racial disharmony is the norm. It’s not the norm nor will anything change under a socialist government because they cant fix what isn’t broken. And the few things that are broken will remain so because the status quo will ensure that no government can help those who won’t help themselves.

It was with this in mind we ventured to a café for lunch. I reach deeply into my inner-vegetarian and had a long black with a large bowl of French Fries. See, it’s not that hard being a greeny! By the way, I first walked the North Shore beaches forty years ago and I see the high tide mark is just as it was back then. Exactly where it should be not where the socialists imagine it to be.

I wonder what would happen if the whole country ignore the “news” media for a year?   Not being told what or how to think.  Not being told what guilt to feel.

Timothy Leary might forgive me when I say “Tune out, drop in”.   Life is great.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story. When he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet. Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet and, as a result, he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist who takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.
