They are not activists they are attention seekers

True activists fight for a cause regardless of whether or not it is popular. They fight for a cause because they believe in it and they fight regardless of the personal, emotional and financial consequences of making a principled stand. True activists that spring to mind are people like Tommy Robinson, Pamela Geller, David Horowitz, Anne Marie Waters, Imam Tawhidi and Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

In the seventies, in particular, there were many true activists on the Left who fought hard for what they believed in and who changed society because of their efforts. Nowadays the true activists that I see putting everything on the line for what they believe in are conservative activists. The attention seekers who call themselves activists on the Left tend to ‘fight’ battles that are already won.

An example close to home is the AUSA who are making their fourth attempt in five years to disaffiliate the Pro-Life club and to also prevent any clubs with ” Pro-Life ideology” from ever gaining affiliation. They are investing a lot of time and energy into making a stand against a club that they view as having ” embarrassing” views. The question I ask is why? The true Pro-Abortion activists won the right for women to have abortions a long time ago. Abortion is never going to be repealed. The battle for women to be able to have safer, medical abortions is won. The AUSA’s actions is nothing more than virtue signalling. They are not activists, they are trouble looking for a place to happen.

Another example of Left wing ‘activists’ who are really just virtue signalling attention seekers is third wave feminists.  Real feminist activists won equality for women a long time ago but these often blue-haired, shrill man haters choose to make a song and dance about “micro-aggressions” and ” man-splaining” instead of tackling truly important, difficult and challenging feminist issues like FGM, child brides, forced marriage, gender apartheid and Sharia law. It is left to conservative traditional feminist activists to put their lives literally on the line to fight for women’s rights.

A rally against former Muslim, Ayaan Hirsi Ali. She should have been a left-wing Heroine but instead, they turned on her.
