Do you value uninterrupted content?

During election night Cam and I did something we don’t usually do. We watched Television. I must say that it was a real shock to the system. For a long time now we have been subscribed to Apple T.V, Netflix, Showtime and HBO. We had forgotten all about annoying things like ads. We are so used to uninterrupted enjoyment of our favourite shows that we very soon became agitated by Jacinda Arden’s smiling face popping up during every ad break.

If only there was a way to remove the ads I thought. People would happily pay for that and in fact with Netflix and the others that is exactly what they do. It is not just the quality content that people are paying for it is the pleasure of uninterrupted content that they have the convenience of watching whenever they like.

There is a crude saying that applies here. Men don’t pay prostitutes for sex, they pay them to leave afterwards. Sometimes what we are paying for is not just the service it is the lack of hassles that come with it. In Whaleoil’s case, you get the service for free but what you pay for is the faster loading time and most importantly the removal of ads.

Let’s look at Whaleoil before and after a Whaleoil subscription.

BEFORE: Five ads on one post
