Russia’s President Putin phoned American President Trump on Sunday to thank him for a CIA tip that successfully prevented a St. Petersburg terror attack. President Trump is making great strides it seems in his quest to strengthen relations with Russia. In a world where Islamic terror is affecting so many countries, our shared enemy can be used to strengthen ties between countries.
Look at what is happening with Israel and Saudia Arabia and UAE. Relations are thawing there because of their shared enemy, Iran. There is nothing like a shared enemy to give countries a reason to work together.
American President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke on the phone again Sunday, with the Russian leader phoning Trump at Camp David.
Putin called Trump to thank him for a CIA tip that helped thwart a series of bombings in St. Petersburg, the Kremlin said.[…]
[…] Putin expressed gratitude during the call for information provided by the CIA that allowed Russia’s top domestic security agency to track down and arrest a group of suspects that was planning to bomb Kazan Cathedral and other crowded sites, the Kremlin said.
The Kremlin added that Putin asked Trump to convey gratitude to the CIA and assured him that Russian law enforcement agencies would hand over any information they get about potential terror threats against the United States, as they have done in the past.
This is the second conversation the two leaders have had in less than a week.
On Thursday, Trump thanked Putin for remarks he made acknowledging ‘America’s strong economic performance,’ the White House said.
‘The two presidents also discussed working together to resolve the very dangerous situation in North Korea‘ according to Trump’s office.
Two powerful men like Putin and Trump working together? That is fantastic news. If Russia and America can be allies it makes me a lot more hopeful about our chances of surviving the ongoing Islamic Holy war against the West.
Imagine the possibilities if Saudi Arabia and UAE and Israel work together to focus on the threat that is Iran. History shows us that a shared enemy creates the most unlikely of bedfellows.
[…] Putin emphasized the countries need to cooperate on tackling global challenges and that Russia is ready for ‘constructive’ cooperation on tackling the North Korean standoff.
Putin has warned the U.S. not to use force against North Korea, adding that the consequences will be ‘catastrophic.’
He emphasized that Russia opposes Pyongyang’s nuclear ambitions, but added the U.S. had ‘provoked’ the North into developing its nuclear and missile programs.
[…] Putin said Moscow was encouraged by U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s statement about readiness for talks with Pyongyang, hailing it as a ‘realistic’ approach.
[…] He emphasized that Russia will ‘ensure its security without entering an arms race,’ noting that Moscow’s military spending next year will amount to some $47 billion, compared with the Pentagon’s budget of about $700 billion.
[…] Putin sought to burnish his image as a father of the nation who cares for the people’s needs, alternating benign statements with his dry and sometimes harsh humor.
He backed his talk about the need for a strong military with a joke about a boy who swaps his father’s navy dagger for a watch.
The youth is told by his father: ‘It’s a good watch. When bandits will come to us and kill your mother and rape your older sister, you will come out and say: ‘Good evening, it’s 12:30 in Moscow.”
That joke could equally apply to nations like Sweden where you simply need to substitute the word bandits for illegal Muslim migrants. We need leaders like Putin and Trump whose focus is on protection rather than political correctness.
