Mixed messages from NZ Palestine Solidarity Network

This is interesting. The NZ Palestine Solidarity Network has a Facebook message announcing protest action in both Arabic and in English.

The English that is posted on the page is different to the Google translate of the Arabic.

For example:

“peaceful demonstration” in their English but “Protest March” in Arabic.

“God” in their English translation and “Allah the Merciful” in Arabic…

“We will organise events and rallies until this declaration is revoked” in their English but in Arabic “We declare that we are in a state of full alert and will carry out a series of measures and activities until this unjust decision is rescinded”

This is total obfuscation. One message is designed for the public/MSM to pick up and another message entirely for local Arab speakers.

Rally this Saturday 9 December, 2pm at Aotea Square, Auckland CBD
We will then march to U.S consulate on Queen’s Street!

THEIR English on their site:

In the name god.

To all our Hero Palestinians, to our friends from all over the world, our Muslim brothers and Comrades..

Today we stand on the verge of a critical step in our history, a hundred years ago we lost parts of Palestine in Balfour’s Declaration and today with Trump’s new declaration the remaining pieces of Palestine are lost.

We lose Jerusalem right in front of our eyes. The decision to move the American Embassy to Jerusalem and declaring it as the Capital of Israel is in clear violation of International Law and it is the beginning of the end for the United Nations.

We announce today our full rejection of this declaration and call on our Palestinian people and all our friends from the free world to stand against this evil and unjust declaration. We will organise events and rallies until this declaration is revoked and we will start it this Saturday with our upcoming rally in Auckland at 2pm in Aotea Square where will organise a peaceful demonstration towards the American Consulate in Queen St.
We will have other events that will be announced in due course.

Long Live Palestine
Long Live Jerusalem
Freedom for Palestine and our eternal Capital Al Quds Jerusalem

GOOGLE TRANSLATE of their Arabic message:

In the name of Allah the Merciful

O masses of our heroic Palestinian people, the masses of the Arab and Islamic nation, all the free people of the world,

Today we are on the threshold of a critical stage in history. One hundred years ago, the Balfour Declaration was announced. Parts of Palestine were lost. Today, with Trump announcing that the rest of Palestine is being lost, Jerusalem is lost, and we look, hear and see. Trump’s declaration of the transfer of the US Embassy to occupied Jerusalem and the declaration of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is tantamount to a declaration of violation, the end of international law and the collapse of the international system based on international law and laws based on the League of Nations.

We declare our total and direct rejection of this resolution and appeal to the Palestinian people and all the free people of the world to stand up to this unjust decision and declare that we are in a state of full alert and will carry out a series of measures and activities until this unjust decision is rescinded.

We will first announce the assembly on Saturday at (Aotea Square Auckland Central .. 2pm.) And a protest march to the US consulate to protest and reject this unjust decision. We will have another subsequent effectiveness that will be announced at the time.

Long live a free and independent Palestine

Long live Jerusalem

Jerusalem has lived the eternal capital of a Palestinian state

Looks like taqqiya is alive and well.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story. When he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet. Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet and, as a result, he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist who takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.
