There is always one who thinks the rules don’t apply to them

Living by the beach is always entertaining.

In Summer there is always at least one moron who gets stuck in the sand each day, then yesterday there were the jetski owners getting pinged by AT for unregistered jetskis. AT was making an absolute fortune, even if their enforcement officer decided to park his ute on the beach in contravention with council by-laws, which ironically he was enforcing at the time. All those jetski owners who are enjoying their new Christmas toys are getting a nice Happy Eff You from Auckland Transport in the form of an enforcement ticket.

I must say it has quietened down the bay no end.

Here is the full shot of Mr Toyota-Hilux’s-don’t-have-to-follow-the-rules parked up on the beach right in front of the no vehicles on beach sign. I suspect that the owner of Toyota HiLux registration FDQ484 might get a ticket in the mail.

He had been parked there for two hours before I took the shot, had a nice flash boat too, so should be able to afford the fine. You can see he is parked right beside the boat ramp.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story.  And when he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet.   Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet, and as a result he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist that takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him.  But you can’t ignore him.
