Another hand signal that you didn’t know was offensive

In Afghanistan and parts of Italy, the thumbs up hand signal is regarded as an obscene insult. It is considered very rude especially if it is combined with a sweep of the arms. In those countries, it roughly means “Sit on my penis” and carries the same stigma as does raising the middle finger in the west.

President Trump loves to give the thumbs up hand signal.

The sign has a similarly rude meaning in parts of West Africa, South America, Southern Italy, Iran, Iraq, Sardinia and Greece. In southern Sardinia, where this gesture is noted for being particularly obscene, a hitchhiker would be well advised not to wave his thumb in the air expecting a car to pick him up, or he may find himself run over.

Before the pranksters at 4Chan convinced the SJW’s that the okay sign was a White Supremacist, White power sign it was already offensive in the Middle East and France. However, in Japan it means money.

Here in New Zealand, it is the secret hand signal used by Whaleoilers so that they can recognise each other in public. Three fingers form a W for whale and the thumb and index finger form an O for oil.

PM Jacinda Ardern makes the secret Whaleoil hand signal WO

Recently the NZ Herald made a fuss because an Intern of Trump’s made the Okay hand signal which they interpreted as the White Power sign because their reporters fell hook line and sinker for the 4 Chan prank.

What I would like to see with Iran cracking down on protestors fighting for freedom from the hijab, and freedom from a religious dictatorship is Westerners sending  Iran’s Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei photos of themselves giving him a two thumbs up on social media.
