Penny Bright protests Cameron Slater’s High Court Bid to block media from publishing information hacked from his Gmail and Facebook accounts including exchanges with accountants, doctors, lawyers and personal communication with his wife.

Auckland activist Penny Bright may finally be forced to sell her house over her refusal to pay her rates for eleven years. During that time other homeowners with debts to the council have been forced to sell their homes but so far Penny Bright has managed to hold off the inevitable.

In 2015 for example after nine years of unpaid rates, Charlotte Hareta Marsh lost her home in a court-ordered sale. She refused to recognise the authority of Auckland Council and claimed to have paid her rates to the “rightful landowner” – Arikinui o Tuhoe.
