I love Twitter…. it’s like owning your own newspaper— without the losses. – Trump

We know full well that Twitter does not represent the real world but “The Donald” is having a ball trolling the lot of them according to the Infographic released by Visual Capitalist.

Admittedly the figures are US only, but interesting nevertheless:

The man that the Twitterati love to hate is mentioned 7 times more often than Hillary.

People wonder why Twitter has not banned Donald as he is the arch conservative tweeter and they seem to have closed down every other conservative voice from the platform.  It seems that if they removed Trump, their business would fold.

These two graphs show the tweet topics with and without Trump.  The eclipse and the Las Vegas shooting were two of the few trending topics that broke through the “background noise” that Trump has created.

[…] incredibly, Trump was the number one topic of daily conversation for 95% of the year, above every other issue and topic:

There were only 17 days in 2017 where Donald Trump was NOT the top topic of conversation, and he was the #1 story every week for every audience.

The Russia story dominated headlines on an ongoing basis.

The alleged collusion was a constant in the news cycle from February until August, and then it picked up again in November.

It was also the top story for two of the major groups that Echelon Insights tracks, the “Liberal Base”, as well as the “Conservative Base”. However, Russia was only the second most important story for the group “Beltway Elites”, falling behind the much-discussed topic of healthcare.

Other topic ratings were:

Broken down into the “groups” that they track the topics looked like this:

It is pleasing to note how far down the list “Climate Change” is.  Last place for the “Beltway Elites” who should be pushing it HARD, even the “Liberal Base” could not get it higher than sixth place and not unexpectedly – it did not feature in the top 10 for the “Conservative Base”.

But the “Russians” kept the Twitterati amused.   And rightly so!

It is an impressive feat to pop a few grands’ worth of adverts on Facebook and convince a nation to vote for someone who [so Wolff tells us] is a childlike, philandering, total idiot, who did not want the job anyway and has “less credibility than perhaps anybody who has ever walked on Earth at this point”.

Well played, Russians, – well played!

Dr Seuss may have been describing WH when he wrote, “He was shortish. And oldish. And brownish. And mossy. And he spoke with a voice that was sharpish and bossy.”  WH, however, is tallish and only just fits in his MG.
