It was never just about same-sex marriage

During the debate on Australia’s same-sex marriage postal survey – often incorrectly described as a “referendum”, or a “plebiscite”, when it was neither – proponents steadfastly, hand on heart, swore that it was about gay people getting married and nothing more. Anyone who argued that it might be part of a wider agenda or a slippery slope was howled down with the standard “progressive” epithets.

The idea that same-sex marriage might be a Trojan horse for a radical Marxist gender programme was especially sneered at.

And yet …

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and the Attorney-General’s Department have made it clear that changing the Marriage Act to allow “two people” to marry delivered gender-fluid marriage, not just same-sex marriage.

Guidelines issued by the Federal Attorney-General’s Department make it clear that the state is radically altering ideas of sex and gender (apologies for the tautology).

What do these new sex/gender categories mean?

The Guidelines make clear that “gender” is whatever you want it to be, and has no reference to your actual sex. This is anti-science gender theory being written into Australian law.

Male/Female on the Notice of Intended Marriage are no longer fixed, immutable terms referring to a person’s biological sex as recorded at birth, but are fluid terms that allow a person to change to another sex or gender.

As we have seen in other countries, as soon as same-sex marriage is passed into law, the “progressive” playbook is to swiftly and quietly introduce a raft of laws aimed at ensuring that radical Marxist gender theory has all the backing of state power.

In Britain, same-sex marriage laws became a weasel-wedge to enforce mandatory “education” in the ever-expanding alphabet of the rainbow brigade, for school children from age 5 and up. Parents have little recourse if they disagree. Even if they remove their kids from public schools, religious private schools are punished for not conforming to the official state ideology.

In Canada, schools are also punished if they teach traditional religious views. Canada has also made it illegal not to use trannie-dictated “gender pronouns”. Parents can also lose their children if they refuse to pander to their “transgender” make-believe.

Australians may have voted to accept same-sex marriage, but the Parliament has delivered something much wider – fluid gender marriage.

Who is Lushington D. Brady?

Well, a pseudonym. Obviously.

But the name Lushington Dalrymple Brady has been chosen carefully. Not only for the sum of its overall mien of seedy gentility, reminiscent perhaps of a slightly disreputable gentlemen of letters, but also for its parts, each of which borrows from the name of a Vandemonian of more-or-less fame (or notoriety) who represents some admirable quality which will hopefully animate the persona of Lushington D. Brady.
