Face of the day

Guest Post:

Michael Fenwick is an incredible teacher who is the Academic Manager of our Rimu Villa at Middle School West Auckland.

He is married to Emma and has two great kids: Sam and Ben.

Ben has cerebral palsy. He is five years old and it would be hard not to argue that he is not NZ’s greatest rugby fan. As bizarre as it sounds, he is even a Blues’ fan!

In April this year Ben and Emma fly to the USA for an operation to allow Ben to walk and gain some other aspects of independence.

The cost of the surgery is NZ$150,000 and one of the marks of the qualities of the family is that the Give-a-Little page is up to $105,000 as I type.

I am doing my small part, along with two of our other Academic Managers. On 10 April at Middle School West Auckland Rebecca Dow, Bronwyn Evans and myself will combine to run a treadmill marathon (at least it is better than a hamster wheel).

We want to show amazing support for Mike from our community. If you can help in any way, or tell this story, we would love you for it.
