Left-wing blog’s conspiracy theory: It was a National plant

A lone tweet has caused far left-wing blogger Martyn Bradbury to create a conspiracy theory that somehow implicates National in the Labour party’s sex and alcohol scandal. His concern is that the below tweet was sent long before Labour Party officials were allegedly told about what had occurred.

[…] how did a far right Troll know about this scandal before anyone else in the Labour Party hierarchy?

Bradbury to his credit admits that:

  •  Labour’s defence that their response to the Summer camp was ‘victim led’ is wrong because waiting 3 weeks to offer counselling and to talk to the police isn’t victim led at all.
  • Ardern should never have been allowed to be left in the dark when questioned about it.
  • Every voting parent in New Zealand is upset that Labour wouldn’t tell them if their child was abused at an official Labour party function

[…] yet 24 hours after the Summer Camp event, ‘Kermy’ seemed to know everything about the Labour Camp scandal.

This is one of those situations I think where what Bradbury is speculating on reveals more about how the Labour party do things than it does about how the National party do things. He is wondering if there was somehow a National party undercover operative present at the Young Labour summer camp.

Since the scandal broke one ex-Young Labour woman has spoken out and said that she was disgusted when some in the organisation suggested to her that because she was attractive that she should act as a honey-trap for National party members.

Her admission makes me wonder how many attractive Young Labour members have been convinced to get rid of the blue dye in their hair, remove a whole lot of piercings and remove the Palestinian style neck scarves so that they can infiltrate the Young Nats?

If infiltration of another political party is the answer that Bradbury’s mind immediately jumps to then it tells us that infiltration is one of the many dirty tricks that Labour employs.

There is, of course, a much simpler explanation. Perhaps Labour officials lied about when they were notified. After all, Labour list MP Liz Craig was right there in the thick of it and would have heard all about it the following morning after she allegedly slept through the drunken party.
