In the world according to Green list MP and Iranian immigrant Golriz Ghahraman the following things are okay or not okay.

Getting a selfie with a famous singer and songwriter whom you are defending (unsuccessfully) against the charge of inciting genocide.

PHOTO: Golriz was part of the team that defended singer and songwriter Bikindi who was accused and later convicted of inciting genocide.

Not okay:

Wearing a T-shirt with a logo that she is offended by.

Refusing to shake the hand of a Labour MP when you are a visitor to her country because she is a woman and you expect your culture to be respected not the other way around.

The refusal of the Iranian agricultural delegation to New Zealand to shake Jo Luxton’s hand in Parliament on Thursday was not a sign of disrespect.

Not okay:

Wearing a T-shirt with a logo that she is STILL offended by.

Wearing a hijab because some Muslim women ‘choose’ to wear the hijab and would wear it even if they weren’t forced to by their government or Muslim communities.

Not okay:
