Tim Wilson: “The Labour party should be renamed the Weinstein party, virtuous on the outside and rotten to the core on the inside”

You know you are in trouble when two left-of-centre guests on talk back start using terms that include Weinstein to describe your party.

Both Vernon Tava and Tim Wilson were on The Huddle last night with Larry Williams and they slayed Labour’s handling of their sex scandal.

Tim Wilson’s rant was brilliant:

We’re talking about a victim led process. Are you kidding me? This has been a political damage led process from the outset. The Labour party should be renamed with the Weinstein party, virtuous on the outside and rotten to the core on the inside. By the way your conversation with that so called expert, if I am the parent of a child who has been sexually attacked I want to know because I care more about that child than some cringing, gurning self appointed health counsellor ever would.

Spot on Tim, spot on. Labour think they can spin their way out of this. They are screwed. BTW, the cringing, gurning, self-appointed health counsellor appears to be very, very closely connected with Labour party people. Her friends list on Facebook is very revealing.

Then there is this statement from her:

This election year I would like to see sexual violence and gender and sexuality issues more generally at the front and centre of the political debate. It’s time survivors of sexual violence got the support they need – and the sector the funding it needs. Wouldn’t it be great if we could look back and say this was the year we finally saw some justice for survivors. Bring it on!

Looks like she got what she wished for. I bet she never thought it would involve her beloved Labour party though.

Larry said:

There is this the virtue signalling that we’ve had from Labour, the #Metoo, the equality, the sexism all this sort of stuff, they’re out the you know banging hard at that and they’ve got this and they’re sitting on this.

Again, spot on Larry.

Lots more to run on this.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story. When he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.
