Youtube’s war on guns

Alternatives to Youtube are popping up now in response to the demand caused by their censorship and banning of conservative voices and topics. One alternative is Vimeo and another is Gab.

InfoWars has moved to Gab TV. I predict that within two years most of the popular conservative content makers will be gone from Youtube and their fan base will go with them.

Youtube is censoring and banning many conservative channels but its latest war is its war on guns.

Banned or censored:

  • Gun channels
  • Any gun related content including gun safety
  • How to use a gun etc

At the same time, Reddit has banned subreddits dedicated to buying and selling firearms legally. It seems that ‘Big Tech’ is helping the Left to wage a war on American’s constitutional rights.

A Florida based and well known firearms manufacturer, Spike’s Tactical, is crying foul after YouTube took down their long established channel for allegedly posting “violent content” that “violates YouTube standards.”

Spike’s Tactical argues YouTube banned their channel without prior warning, catching the company, customers and fans completely off guard.

A visit to the company’s YouTube channel shows a red banner with the text, “This account has been terminated due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube’s policy against spam, deceptive practices, and misleading content or other Terms of Service violations.”

The family owned company, which was founded the day before 9/11/2001, also received this message from YouTube about their content.

But a closer look shows Spike’s Tactical didn’t post violent content that would violate terms. Instead, YouTube is taking issue with the fact the company manufacturers AR-15 rifles. Spike’s Tactical is also an outspoken opponent of Antifa.

“This is without question an attack on free speech,” Spike’s Tactical Marketing Director Kit Cope said in a statement. “We feel strongly that after they get done going after guns, they’ll continue to ban and erase content that falls in line with conservative ideologies like they have already demonstrated with the deletion of anti-abortion videos and the like.”

Spike’s Tactical maintains the company uses the YouTube channel for educational purposes and to demonstrate their products.

The AR-15 is the most widely owned, most popular rifle in America.

Here are just some of the right-wing and independent commentators purged, censored or banned by Youtube in the wake of the Parkland High shooting.

Independent journalist Mike Cernovich uploaded a video of left-wing Antifa activists chanting death threats and Youtube took it down.

He said, “YouTube is censoring honest, unedited reporting about ANTIFA’s actions. This can mean only one thing — they endorse far left-wing violence.”

Google, which owns YouTube, has also banned political YouTube star and classical liberal Carl Benjamin, better known by his online pseudonym “Sargon of Akkad.”

Although his videos are still available to view, he has been locked out of his Google account, including YouTube, and is unable to upload new videos. Benjamin was also permanently banned from Twitter last year — Facebook is now the only major social media platform that he can use to get his message out.

Ashton Whitty, a conservative vlogger has been censored after she uploaded a video criticizing CNN over their coverage of the Parkland shootings. Her video was taken down and YouTube issued her channel with a “strike.” If her channel receives three strikes within three months, it can be permanently banned from the platform.

The YouTube purge has also hit InfoWars, a popular alternative media channel run by radio host Alex Jones, who interviewed Donald Trump while he was still a candidate. InfoWars’ YouTube channel, which has more than 2 million subscribers, has now been blocked for two weeks over accusations that it posted “conspiracy theories” about Parkland. If it receives one more strike within three months, the channel will be permanently banned.

[…] Paul Joseph Watson said Google’s unchecked power and influence over civil discourse required regulation.

“Google is a monopoly, and its anti-free speech policies are beginning to erode the sanctity of civil discourse,” said Watson. “We need some kind of constitutional amendment or mass movement, such as the one against SOPA, in order to re-assert the supremacy of free expression.”

[…] At a Senate hearing last month, Sen. Ted Cruz called out YouTube’s alleged ideological bias, highlighting Prager University’s lawsuit against the company over censorship of conservatives. Cruz told a YouTube representative that if the platform did not remain politically neutral, they could lose legal immunity for user content under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. Without this protection, social media companies would be legally liable for all content posted on their platforms – an existential threat to their business model.

Update — InfoWars contributor Jerome Corsi reports that his YouTube account has been terminated.
