Let’s Talk

In the UK doctors have been banned from prescribing paracetamol, cough mixtures, anti-dandruff shampoo, indigestion pills, eye drops and laxatives as well as other over the counter remedies in an attempt to save NHS £100 million so that the money can instead be spent on frontline services and operations. Thousands of operations have been cancelled due to lack of funding.

Should New Zealand do the same? Should the taxpayer be subsidising laxatives, paracetamol and anti-dandruff shampoo?
