Born today in 1947, songwriter and singer, Meat Loaf (Marvin Lee Aday).

Born today in 1953, Greg Ham songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with Men At Work.

Today in 1973, Grand Funk Railroad went to number 1 in the US with “We’re An American Band”.

Died today in 1979, Jimmy McCullough songwriter, singer and guitarist with Thunder Clap Newman , Stone The Crows and Wings, from a heroin overdose aged 26.

Died today in 1986, Cliff Burton bass guitar with Metallica, in a bus accident, aged 24.
