Commenter of the week

Here at Whaleoil, we have a lot of talented people making comments on our posts all of the time.

So, we have decided to shine a light on the person we think has most deserved an accolade in the last 7 days.

Please note this is not about just one comment. We are looking for more than that. We are looking for someone who regularly contributes constructively to our forum and to the messages we are trying to send.

Well, what a week. The trouble with going to hell in a handcart is that you never know which direction the handcart is coming from.? Of all of the things we might have expected to happen next, Jami-Lee Ross throwing his entire party under a bus was not part of it. If you are in the business of running a political blog, it makes for exciting stuff, but there is no doubt that the world gets stranger by the day. Every day.

As always,?we have a lot of brilliant commenters talking about it. More so than usual this week.

This week, our Commenter of the week is…

KGB has been a reader and a regular commenter on this blog for a long time. I understand she now lives in or near Christchurch, having moved from the north some time ago. Naturally, she would prefer the colder climate. Where else can she wear her fur hats?

As we all know, there is a lot of interest in Russians these days. She may never have been sightseeing at Salisbury Cathedral, but rumour has it she has been responsible for some of those bots that keep turning up with .ru at the end. If this is true, KGB, then Golriz should be in your sights. Or maybe you have started taking care of that already…

From: Oral questions:

A fair enough question, KGB. Politics is politics, as you say and it took a whole new, groundbreaking turn this week.

From General Debate:

The question of legalising marijuana has always been a troubling one. We should watch and see what happens in Canada, but I agree that no one wants to fly with a stoned pilot. Aeroflot would never allow that, of course.

From General Debate (on the proposed waterfront stadium):

Hilarious. Be careful what you wish for, Helen – Ray Avery was a sweetheart compared to what you are up against now.

From? It?s okay to cover up or be complicit in a criminal act:

I like your loyalty there, KGB, but… which ‘Party’ are we talking about here?

From General Debate:

The JLR matter has brought to everyone’s attention the question of donations to political parties, and I think she answers this well. All parties need money to function, and it doesn’t really matter where it comes from. They are all influential.

No problem back in the Motherland, though…

From Backchat:

Probably not, KGB. Although, Simon Bridges is having a baptism by fire this week. He may be a very different politician by the end of it all – if he manages to survive.

Also from Backchat:

This is just a vague impression here, KGB, but I do get a slight hint that you are not crazy about our deputy prime minister. Might that be right?

From Now they are coming for your family bach:

Why thank you, KGB. Only trouble is, I’m not supposed to be giving advice on tax avoidance. I could get into all sorts of trouble for that…

She’s not afraid to tell Nige off either…?From Backchat:

You tell him, KGB. Won’t hurt him to be on the receiving end, for a change…

So, many thanks to you,?KGB???for being a regular contributor to the blog. We value and respect your opinions, as this is all part of what makes the blog such a great place to visit and share ideas.

So, here is a little gift for you from our wonderful photoshopper, Technomage:

And I have a little something for you too…

I just thought you might like to be reminded of how kind he is to animals. He’s great with children and loves his mother too, I hear.

Keep watching, KGB…
