Commenter of the week

Here at Whaleoil, we have a lot of talented people making comments on our posts all of the time.

So, we have decided to shine a light on the person we think has most deserved an accolade in the last 7 days.

Please note this is not about just one comment. We are looking for more than that. We are looking for someone who contributes constructively to our forum and to the messages we are trying to send.

It has been another great week. We may be going to hell in a handcart, but at least we have a lot to talk about on the way down. Jacinda has used taxpayer’s money for her PR shoots (why am I not surprised), the question of the leaker is still unanswered, and Simon Bridges made an idiot of himself when announcing that Jamie Lee Ross was going on medical leave. He also made an idiot of himself with a cucumber in his mouth at a supermarket checkout. Haven’t you heard all the cucumber jokes, Simon? Obviously not.

Once again, we have a lot of brilliant comments.

This week, our Commenter of the week is…

Waldo Pepper

Waldo has a great sense of humour and also a solid, down to earth view of the world. A lot of people obviously agree with his views, because he gets a lot of upticks and supporting comments.

From The mob rules (about women screaming at a total stranger in the street during the Kavanaugh case):

Hmmm. Good point. No, we don’t all feel that way, Waldo, but sometimes, it seems that we do.

From the same article:

Have to admit, the man in the video showed amazing restraint but he would have been lynched if he didn’t. What a sad state of affairs for the ‘fairer sex’.

From General Debate:

Interesting concept, Waldo. I doubt if it has been thought out quite so clearly by the leftists. I think they are just trying to demonise our society in every way they can and yes, you are a conspiracy theorist.

From It might be headline grabbing but it is also vote grabbing

Oh, I agree with you here, Waldo. Too many times has he campaigned on things and then conveniently forgotten about them all together. I won’t forget that again either.

From The mob rules (again):

You know what? I thought this too. I have always wondered why those in power, or close to power, just buy into the hashtags. If they can’t actually do anything, then no one can. It just sums up the Obamas, I guess. #hashtagsruletheworld.

From Greens want no sanctions on welfare:

Most hardworking taxpayers would love to see this, Waldo, but it won’t happen. Those on the left are even campaigning for prisoners and 16 year-olds to vote, and none of them are taxpayers. Of course, prisoners will vote Labour and teenagers will vote Green and when the 2 parties are joined at the hip, a vote is a vote, right?

Finally, from General Debate:

Well, good luck with that, Waldo. She looks expensive. But don’t ever forget the late, great Robin Williams’ definition of divorce: quote

‘Divorce is like ripping a man’s genitals out through his wallet.’ end quote

Ouch.

Perhaps a more suitable quote from Robin Williams for Waldo Pepper would be this: quote

“You’re only given a little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.” end quote

So here, Waldo, is a little token of appreciation from our wonderful photoshopper, Technomage

Don’t ever lose your spark of madness, Waldo. We all appreciate it.

Accountant. Boring. Loves tax. Needs to get out more. Loves the environment, but hates the Greens. Has been called a dinosaur. Wears it with pride.
