Born today in 1946, Gary Mallaber backing vocals, songwriter, keyboards and drummer with The Steve Miller Band.

Born today in 1949, Greg Douglas guitarist, and songwriter with The Steve Miller Band and Greg Kihn Band.

Today in 1963, The Beatles received a gold record for “She Loves You”.

Today in 1980,  The Police went to number1 on the UK album chart with “Zenyatta Mondatta”

Today in 1997, Muddy Waters (McKinley Morganfield) was posthumously honoured by the Kennedy Center.

Died today in 2011, George “Mojo” Buford, harmonic player with Muddy Waters, aged 81.
