Born today in 1951, Kenneth “K.K.” Downing, songwriter and guitarist with Judas Priest.

Died today in 1980, Steve Peregrin Took(Stephen Ross Porter), percussionist with Tyrannosaurus Rex by choking on a cherry stone, aged 31.

Today in 1982, Prince released his fifth album, “1999”.

Died today in 2013, Lou Reed singer, songwriter and guitarist with The Velvet Underground and solo, aged 71.
