Born today in 1960, Rick Savage songwriter and bassist with Def Leppard.

Today in 1967, The Monkees went to number 1 on the US singles chart with “Daydream Believer” and to number 1 on the album chart with “Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn and Jones Ltd”.

Today in 1978, Rod Stewart went to number 1 on the UK singles chart with “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?”.

Died today in 2006, Mariska Veres (Maria Ender) singer with Shocking Blue aged 59.

Died today in 2006, David Mount drummer with Mud aged 59.

Died today in 2009, Eric Woolfson singer, songwriter and keyboards with The Alan Parsons Project, aged 64.

Died today in 2014, Bobby Keys session/touring saxophone player for many acts including John Lennon, Humble Pie, Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Rolling Stones, aged 70.
