Who did it better?

Many songs get covered or re-interpreted, the covers often being more successful than the original.

Here are some cover versions of one song, let us know in the comments which is your favourite, or if you don’t like any of them.

“Ain’t That A Shame” is a song written by Fats Domino and Dave Bartholomew, first released in 1955.

Pat Boone released a cover in 1955, which would reach a greater audience in the US and it also helped sales of Fats’ original.

The Four Seasons released a version in 1963.

Brownsville Station released a version on their 1977 album “Brownsville Station”.

Cheap Trick released a version in 1978 on the live album “Cheap Trick at Budokan”. Fats Domino liked this cover so much he gave Cheap Trick his 1955 gold record for the song.
