They will be banning pies and mullets next

Dane Swan has been banned by Collingwood for drinking alcohol…what net banning for eating pies or having a mullet?

COLLINGWOOD has suspended Brownlow medallist Dane Swan over a night on the town on Sunday.

The Magpies will ban Swan from their next two matches, against the Sydney Swans and North Melbourne.

A Magpies player challenged Swan about his condition at training on Monday, and a meeting with coach Nathan Buckley and at least two other players followed.

“The decision was made after the club became aware that Swan had been drinking alcohol six days before next Saturday’s match against the Sydney Swans, a clear breach of club protocol,” Collingwood said in a statement on Tuesday.

Why is the AFL tougher than the National party?

Herald Sun

The AFL appears to be way tougher on domestic violence and violence against women than the National party:

EXCITING Geelong rookie Jesse Stringer has been banned from senior football for the rest of the season.

The young midfielder allegedly assaulted a woman last week and the AFL has approved the Cats’ ban.

While Stringer will be unavailable for AFL selection until 2013, he will be eligible to play out the season in the VFL from Round 18 onwards – effectively a four-game ban on playing at any level.
