Proslytizing Climate Change thru Twitter

You know how everyone hates being door-knocked by Jehovah’s Witnesses and you know that if you take a Watchtower that you are destined for monthly visits for the rest of eternity.

Well for the past week I have had the Twitter equivalent from Global Warming adherents who have taken upon themselves to try to “convert” me to their religion of snake-oil and false deities who spout inconvenient truths that are actually proven lies.

I have been bombarded from nice, well meaning but ultimately annoying adherents of this new religion proslytizing the news by sending me links to articles about “consensus”, “the science”, anything that proves their point of view.

Every time I respond with a corresponding link that disproves their “consensus”, scientific “proof” and other general proven lies. It is like trading verses of the bible against muslim adherents throwing sura from the Qu’ran.

Further the adherents of the new religion use much the same tactics as Muslim jihadists. They use terror (seas rising 100′, terror (ice floes melting), terror (Polar Bears being slaughtered) and terror (hurricanes, floods, typhoons and cyclones).

Every time I send them information it is instantly dismissed with lines like “That’s just a data point, not scientific consensus…” in response to empirical data that shows the opposite of what they believe and  “The evidence is very clear for anyone who actually wants to look at it and understand it. If 30,000 don’t, too bad.” in response to evidence of more than 30,000 scientists who aren’t in agreement with “consensus”.

Their actions are nothing better than the Jehovahs Witness or the Jihadi terrorists trying to proslytize their world view, except they use Twitter and modern technology. I however remain true in both cases to the ability to reason and to think and to question for myself.

Two things is for sure, the science is most definately not settled and there is no such thing as scientific consensus when it comes to the new religion called Climate Change.

Peak oil? Nah its all b.s. just like "Climate Change"

Bioengineers rebuilding bacteria to produce crude oil – gizmag Article

Oh i do love it when wowzers usually from the left wail on about “Peak oil”. I usually can’t be bothered writing copious amounts rebutting their foolishness like Insolent Prick did recently, rather I prefer to know that humans are incredibly intelligent and generally find solutions to difficult challenges.

This post from Gizmag is a case in point.
August 2, 2007 If you ever doubt the creativity of modern science, just throw a serious challenge at it and watch the myriad responses you receive. Rising oil prices and historical data are signifying that Hubbert?s ?peak oil? may be upon us, and the rush is on all over the world to find viable alternative energy sources to replace the dwindling crude that?s powered us into the technology age. But what if we could just ?grow? more oil? The deadly bacteria E. coli, might seem like an unlikely ally, but scientists in California are claiming they have successfully genetically manipulated the deadly bug and a host of other bacteria to produce pure hydrocarbon chains that can be processed into biofuels. In fact, they?re getting so good at it that they can coax the bacteria into producing a substance that?s exceptionally close to crude oil ? minus the sulfur impurities that taint the oil we pump out of the ground – and ready to be put through a standard refinery to produce petrol, diesel, jet fuel or any other petroleum product. There?s also talk of other, far more pure and powerful fuels that need no further refinement before they go to the pump. Could the next great oil barons be bug farmers?
Peak oil like Climate change is bollocks, a socialist conspiracy if you will, designed to further control populations of supposedly enlightened peoples.

Sick of hearing about AGW

So is Garth George and his article the other day in the Herald is a pearler.

He starts off;
If you believe all the garbage you've been reading, seeing and hearing lately about global warming, then you probably still believe the Earth is flat.

And if you believe that the cause is human-produced CO2 emissions and that you personally are somehow responsible – your car is too big and your seaside bach is likely to be inundated any old day – then you probably still believe those ancient charts in which large areas are marked "Here be dragons."

This scaremongering, doom-saying global warming industry is shaping up to be the biggest rort of the decade and, if it goes on much longer, of the 21st century.

Because, as Richard S. Lindzen wrote lately in the Washington Post, the long-range predictions issued by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) have been made "using inherently untrustworthy climate models similar to those that cannot accurately forecast the weather a week from now".

"The current alarm," writes the professor of meteorology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Newsweek, "rests on the false assumption not only that we live in a perfect world temperaturewise, but also that our warming forecasts for the year 2040 are somehow more reliable than the weatherman's forecast for next week."
Ex-fucking-actly….he continues in much the same fashion. Garth George take a bow.

Brian Rudman, go to the back of the class. The Herald decided that Brian should post an opposing article the next day. Brian of course is a cloth-cap socialist and couldn't resist dismissing everything Garth George had to say by abusing him for being a Christian, he even used the "F" word. Apparently by being a Christian you are not entitled to an opinion in our blighted isles anymore.

Call for NIWA to be disbanded

Augie Auer from the Climate Science Coalition has called for the disbanding of NIWA after they continue to issue silly statements about the climate.
"So simplistic, it's silly" is how Dr Auer describes the statement by NIWA climate scientist Dr Jim Salinger that "As climate warming occurs, the atmosphere can hold more moisture and therefore more rain falls and therefore what we have thought of under past climate data as one-in-100 or more reduces".

As an explanation of the cause and consequences of last week's Northland rains, Dr Salinger's statement above is as unscientific as it is incorrect. If warming of the air encourages more moisture in the atmosphere, how come there's no rain over the deserts? And the mere presence of moisture in the atmosphere will not produce rain unless there is an associated atmospheric and meteorological process, which last week was the great volume of warm saturated tropical air that funnelled down on to New Zealand.

"But it gets worse. Dr Salinger uses the words ?as climate warming occurs?, when his own agency's latest seasonal summary statistics for December-February just released show New Zealand at 15.7 degrees C, 0.9 degrees lower than normal. In fact, his agency's own figures show that New Zealand has been cooling since the El Nino of 1998. To put it simply, NIWA is claiming that warming is occurring when its own records show otherwise. Why wont they admit this?
Precisely. Increasingly the science is being proven….AGW is a hoax.

What does Al Gore want?

What does he want?

Well according to Robert Tracinski , Al Gore has diagnosed modern man's desire for material prosperity as a dangerous neurosis and Global warming is just the scientific excuse for this quasi-religious agenda. Essentially Gore's solution to the "problem" is to curtail industrial civilization and get back to our pre-industrial "roots."?
So what does this mean? Listen to what Gore claims are the factors that require us to change our relationship with nature. From his House testimony:

We quadrupled human population in less than one century, from 1.6 billion in 1900 to 6.5 billion today?. Having multiplied by four the number of people on this planet?, that in itself causes a big change in the relationship between humanity and the planet.

So Gore's global warming hysteria is really just a rehash of the old "population explosion" scare. In the 1970s, environmentalists predicted that an expanding global population would lead, by the end of the century, to mass starvation and shortages of oil and other natural resources. This claim was famously proven wrong?so as a fallback, the environmentalists have to claim that "overpopulation" is leading to a warmer climate, a proposition that is slightly harder to disprove.

But it's not just the size of the human population Gore is worried about. He goes on to name a second factor that requires us to alter our relationship with the earth:

Our technologies are thousands of times more powerful than any our grandparents had at their disposal. And so even though we're more skillful and more effective in doing the things we've always done, exploiting the earth for sustenance, providing for our families, and going about productive lives, the side-effects of what we're doing sometimes now outstrip the development of extra wisdom to make sure that we handle these new powers in a way that doesn't do unintended harm.

So that very fact that we are "much more skillful and more effective" at "exploiting the earth" to live "productive lives"?in short, the fact of our enormous, unprecedented prosperity?is the reason we have to fear that we are doing "unintended harm."

This, then, is the essence of Gore's complaint: there are too many humans and they are too well off.
His comments on Alarmists shutting down debate is accurate, so eerily accurate.
That's why folks like Al Gore have to keep claiming that there is an iron-clad "consensus" on global warming and that the debate is "over"?because the moment the debate on the scientific merits of global warming is actually allowed to begin, the alarmists start to lose.

Al Gore is trying to dragoon science in an attempt to win over converts who don't share his sense of personal spiritual crisis and don't find his anti-industrial moral vision compelling. But the moment people see through his charade?and realize that what Gore is really pushing is a not a scientific campaign against "pollution" but a quasi-religious crusade against industrial civilization?his campaign will collapse.
Al Gore is a two bit charlatan peddling? a snake oil solution to a non-problem.

Toothless attacks on Global Warming Swindle maker

The warmists attacked, but the victim is standing firm and laughing in their faces.
The remarkable thing is not that I was attacked. But that the attacks have been so feeble. The ice-core data was the jewel in the global-warming crown, cited again and again as evidence that carbon dioxide 'drives' the earth's climate. In fact, as its advocates have been forced to admit, the ice-core data says the opposite. Temperature change always precedes changes in CO2 by several hundred years. Temperature drives CO2, not the other way round. The global-warmers do not deny this. They cannot.

During the post-war economic boom, while industrial emissions of CO2 went up, the temperature went down (hence the great global-cooling scare in the 1970s). Why? They say maybe the cooling was caused by SO2 (sulphur dioxide) produced by industry. But they say it mumbling under their breath, because they know it makes no sense. Thanks to China and the rest, SO2 levels are far, far higher now than they were back then. Why isn't it perishing cold?

Too many journalists and scientists have built their careers on the global-warming alarm. Certain newspapers have staked their reputation on it. The death of this theory will be painful and ugly. But it will die. Because it is wrong, wrong, wrong.
But, but, but the science is settled!!!! Isn't it? Oh…..?

Al Gore – Environmental hypocrite

hat tip Andrew Falloon

Al Gore is a fucking liar. He is being proven a liar day after day.

Firstly his hot on the heels of revelations that Al Gore’s "carbon footprint" is twenty times larger than the average American, comes this little gem from the Tennessean.
Al Gore Jr. received more than $500,000 in royalties from the owners of zinc mines who held mineral leases on his farm near Carthage, Tenn. Now the mines have a new owner and are scheduled to reopen later this year.

Before the mines closed in 2003, they emitted thousands of pounds of toxic substances and several times, the water discharged from the mines into nearby rivers had levels of toxins above what was legal.
His movie An Inconvenient Truth was obviously named after his previously hidden exploits at ravaging the planet.

Clearly a case of the Socialist Disease – Do as I say, not as I do.

Labour working on Greenhouse Solutions as we speak

The Government is showing increasing concern of developments on White Island.

Reports show that an eruption is imminent. Government sources are quietly trying to hush up news of the pending eruption as evidence leaks out that seriously undermines the Governments vaunted Carbon Neutrality plan.

Already significant Greenhouse gases Sulfur Dioxide and Carbon Dioxide are pouring into the atmosphere and alarming rates, but since the Prime Ministers speech on Tuesday have magnified in output.

The quantities are genuinely alarming and have made hoards of bureaucrats reach for their Brown Cardies and pocket protectors in an attempt to work out how the Government can ameliorate this disturbing occurrence short of ignoring it completely. White Island is presently discharging Sulfur dioxide gas into the atmosphere at over 500 tonnes a day up from 300 tonnes recently, and the amount of carbon dioxide being pumped out has risen from 1000 tonnes a day to 1400 tonnes.

With New Zealand’s present emissions rates at approximately 93,000 tonnes per day this means a radical increase in the planned outputs when Helen Clark was planning the exact opposite. In fact her "Bonsais behind Treasury" and "Bikes for MP’s" plan will only save 110 tonnes per annum, which is just 7% of the daily amount being pumped into the atmosphere by the runaway White Island. To compare annually it works out at  0.0002% of White Islands present output and makes Helen Clark’s plans look just plain sick and she should now be concentrating on diverting significant resources into shutting White Island down in order to make any kind of headway on the issue of New Zealand’s burgeoning Greenhouse gas emissions.

If an eruption does occur expect to see those numbers spike alarmingly.

Meanwhile, reports from Beehive sources have named variously, Philip Field, the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy and even bizarrely a gay donkey named Sonic as the instigators behind the embarrassing uplift in emissions from White Island. The word is that various state agencies are even now working on tracking down the people responsible to messing up the Dear Leaders fine speech to parliament on Tuesday with such a blatant stunt. Strangely no mention of the Exclusive Brethren enlisting the aid of God to orchestrate what can clearly only be some sort of Tory manifestation.

We will keep you posted on these dramatic developments.

Govt plans to fine forest owners

The stupid government faced with massive forest owner opposition is deciding whether to fine forest owners if they cut down their own trees and do not replant and convert their own land to more profitable enterprises.
Not all forest land is suitable for conversion to other uses, but the deforestation fine does threaten to slice hundred of millions of dollars off the potential value of forest land owners.
Of course the government has only themselves to blame for this debacle.

They stole the property rights of the forest owners for themselves and then wonder why they decided to cut the trees down.

Now after destroying shareholder value in Telecom in the order of billions of dollars they are now setting about wiping hundreds of million of dollars off of the value of those nasty little forest owners.

Forest owners like, Carter Holt Harvey, Maori with much of the central North Island forest plantations being held in trust to settle treaty claims.

Oh dear, it looks like bad news all round for the government.

Clark and Mallard miscalculated support

How bad was their miscalculation?

Well Kyoto like in proportion.

So bad in fact that dripping wet socialists are even abandoning the pretence that the Waterfront Stadium was ever a good idea.
Aucklanders have become the flabbergasted witnesses to one of the most comprehensive failures of central and local government imagination in this country's history.

The Rugby Union, backed by Helen Clark and her enthusiastic Sports Minister, Trevor Mallard, somehow managed to sell the International Rugby Board the sizzle of a New Zealand-hosted World Cup in 2011 without bothering to tell them we didn't actually have the sausages.
Ouch….then how about this…just ignore the peak oil and climate change B.S.
And the idea that our Government is willing to spend up to a billion dollars on a game, on the multimillion-dollar private enterprise that is professional rugby, when one in four Kiwi kids lives in poverty, when women with breast cancer are denied Herceptin, when the twin threats of peak oil and climate change cry out for every available research dollar, is, quite frankly, obscene.

Maybe, if our Government had led the way on these issues. Maybe, if we had already mobilised against poverty, and cancer, and the convenient lie that New Zealand is ''One Hundred Percent Pure''. Maybe, if the experience of collective selfimprovement had equipped us with the tools to make ''economic transformation'' a reality. Then, maybe, we would have been ready to seize the promotional opportunities that a global event like the Rugby World Cup undoubtedly offers.

But our Government did none of these things. It simply reached out for the quick and easy public relations fix that anything associated with rugby provides. The 2011 World Cup looked like a fantastic photo opportunity – the ideal backdrop for a government seeking its fifth term. Now it has to make it happen in just four years. It reminds me of the story of the English tourist lost in the Irish countryside. ''Could you tell me how I might get to Dublin?'' he asks a passing farmer.

''Ah, well, sir,'' says the farmer, scratching his chin, ''if I wanted to be getting there, I'd never be starting from here.''
Double ouch. Thak you Mr Trotter now crawl back under your rock.?
