Top meteorologist claims Climate change PROVED to be ‘nothing but a lie’

The wheels are systematically coming off the climate change trolley.

Now a top meteorologists claims that climate change is nothing but a lie.

THE debate about climate change is finished – because it has been categorically proved NOT to exist, one of the world’s leading meteorologists has claimed.

John Coleman, who co-founded the Weather Channel, shocked academics by insisting the theory of man-made climate change was no longer scientifically credible.

Instead, what ‘little evidence’ there is for rising global temperatures points to a ‘natural phenomenon’ within a developing eco-system.

In an open letter attacking the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, he wrote: “The ocean is not rising significantly.

“The polar ice is increasing, not melting away. Polar Bears are increasing in number.? Read more »

And another scientist abandons the fraud that is Climate Change

They are dropping like flies, now that they realise that their scare-mongering and lies are being called.

James Delingpole reports at Breitbart on another turncoat from the “cause”.

One of the world’s most eminent climate scientists – for several decades a warmist – has defected to the climate sceptic camp.

Lennart Bengtsson – a Swedish climatologist, meteorologist, former director of the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology in Hamburg and winner, in 2006, of the 51st IMO Prize of the World Meteorological Organization for his pioneering work in numerical weather prediction – is by some margin the most distinguished scientist to change sides.

For most of his career, he has been a prominent member of the warmist establishment, subscribing to all its articles of faith – up to and including the belief that Michael Mann’s Hockey Stick was a scientifically plausible assessment of the relationship between CO2 emissions and global mean temperature.

But this week, he signalled his move to the enemy camp by agreeing to?join the advisory council?of Britain’s Global Warming Policy Foundation (GWPF), the think tank created by the arch-sceptical former Chancellor Lord Lawson.

Though Bengtsson is trying to play down the significance of his shift – “I have always been a sceptic and I think that is what most scientists really are” he recently told Germany’s Spiegel Online, denying that he had ever been an “alarmist” – his move to the GWPF is a calculated snub to the climate alarmist establishment. ?? The great big list of failed climate predictions

Anthony Watts has a list of 107 failed climate predictions.

There are 107 of them…here are some of my favourites.

3. ?More heat waves, no snow in the winter? Climate models? over 20 times more precise than the UN IPCC global models. In no other country do we have more precise calculations of climate consequences. They should form the basis for political planning? Temperatures in the wintertime will rise the most? there will be less cold air coming to Central Europe from the east?In the Alps winters will be 2?C warmer already between 2021 and 2050.?

Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, Hamburg, September 2, 2008.

5. ?Clear climate trends are seen from the computer simulations. Foremost the winter months will be warmer all over Germany. Depending of CO2 emissions, temperatures will rise by up to 4?C, in the Alps by up to 5?C.?
Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, Hamburg, 7 Dec 2009.

6. ?In summer under certain conditions the scientists reckon with a complete melting of the Arctic sea ice. For Europe we expect an increase in drier and warmer summers. Winters on the other hand will be warmer and wetter.?
Erich Roeckner, Max Planck Institute, Hamburg, 29 Sept 2005.

Haven’t they got plenty already?

NIWA is seeking amateur scientists….snigger.

Jamie Morton reports:

Fancy yourself as a climate scientist?

A new climate science experiment, launched online today, is allowing weather enthusiasts to be part of the picture by lending their computers’ processing power.

Volunteers are being sought for the [email protected] ANZ project, launched today by the National Institute for Water and Atmosphere in collaboration with researchers from the UK and Australia.

It will enable the public to contribute to scientists’ understanding of how climate change might be affecting weather in New Zealand and Australia – and a desktop computer and internet connection is all that’s needed.

NIWA climate scientist and New Zealand programme leader Dr Suzanne Rosier said the initial aim of the project was to improve understanding of how extreme weather conditions such as heatwaves and drought may be changing.? Read more »

BBC covered up secret ‘green propaganda’ training

One of those pesky bloggers has busted the chops of the BBC that is now mired in a scandal of its own making, attempting to coverup ‘green propaganda’ training for its top executives that would shape programming for years.

On top of that it was government funded at a cost of tens of thousands of pounds.

The BBC has spent tens of thousands of pounds over six years trying to keep secret an extraordinary ?eco? conference which has shaped its coverage of global warming,? The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

The controversial seminar was run by a body set up by the BBC?s own environment analyst Roger Harrabin and funded via a ?67,000 grant from the then Labour government, which hoped to see its ?line? on climate change and other Third World issues promoted in BBC reporting.

At the event, in 2006, green activists and scientists ? one of whom believes climate change is a bigger danger than global nuclear war? ? lectured 28 of the Corporation?s most senior executives.

Then director of television Jana Bennett opened the seminar by telling the executives to ask themselves: ?How do you plan and run a city that is going to be submerged?? And she asked them to consider if climate change laboratories might offer material for a thriller.

A lobby group with close links to green campaigners, the International Broadcasting Trust (IBT), helped to arrange government funding for both the climate seminar? and other BBC seminars run by? Mr Harrabin ? one of which was attended by then Labour Cabinet Minister Hilary Benn.

Applying for money from Mr Benn?s Department for International Development (DFID), the IBT promised Ministers the seminars would influence programme content for years to come.

The BBC began its long legal battle to keep details of the conference secret after an amateur climate blogger spotted a passing reference to it in an official report.? Read more »

How is the northern hemisphere enjoying their global warming then?

A man walks past a snow encrusted bicycle with wind chills nearing minus 30F on Tuesday, in downtown Chicago

The global warmists have been pretty much wrong on everything so far and their taxpayer funded computer modelling is a joke, garbage in garbage out.

But let’s say they are correct and we may get warming of 2 degrees over the next century that will bring the temperature up in Washington to -12, -20 in Chicago, -14 in New York and balmy Florida to a sweltering 2 degrees.

The Daily Mail reports progress with global warming in the Northern Hemisphere.

Brutal, life-threatening cold descended over the East and the South, sending the mercury plummeting on Tuesday into the single digits and teens from New York and Washington to Atlanta, Nashville and Birmingham – where many people have little experience in dealing with freezing weather.

After pounding the Midwest and Great Lakes over the weekend, snow from winter storm Ion started to move into the East on Tuesday.

The morning weather map for the eastern half of the U.S. was dotted with lots of small, negative numbers with the Midwest and the East were colder than much of Antarctica.

The?historic freeze shuttered schools, businesses and made road conditions treacherous.?More than 3,700 flights – around one out of every 10 domestic departures – were canceled on Monday with delays continuing today. The majority of cancellations were in Chicago, Cleveland, New York and Boston. ? Read more »

Turns out the Arctic isn’t melting, temps peaked before 1950

This is going to end the hippies into an apoplectic shock…the Arctic isn’t melting and temperatures peaked before 1950 a new study has revealed.

Watts Up with That reports:

A new paper published in?Climate of the Past?reconstructs temperatures over the past 1100 years from Eastern Arctic ice cores. The dating was done by?Oxygen 18 isotope dating?and the O18 data shows the highest Eastern Arctic temperatures of the 20th century occurred in the 1920?s-1940?s. The data shows that after that peak, there was a cooling or a warming ?pause? over the remainder of the 20th century.? Read more »

Uh oh…law of unintended consequences hits Climate Science

Anthony Watts reports:

Pollution controls have contributed to a more transparent atmosphere, thus allowing for??a staggering increase in surface solar radiation of the order of ?20% over the last decade.?

A new paper (O?Dowd et al.) from the National University of Ireland presented this summer at the?19th International Conference on Nucleation and Atmospheric Aerosols?suggests that clean air laws put in place in the 1970?s and 80?s have resulted in an increase in sunlight impacting the surface of the Earth, and thus have increased surface temperatures as a result.? In one fell swoop, this can explain why surface temperature dipped in the 1970?s, prompting fears of an ice age, followed by concerns of global warming as the air got cleaner after pollution laws and controls were put in place.? Item #4578 of things global warming is blamed for – crunchy apples

There is a list of things that global warming is blamed for…it is quite long, check for yourself.

Now there is another thing to add to the list….the lack of crunchy apples. Not kidding…apparently a?mean air temperature rise of 0.31 and 0.34 degrees Celsius…less than a third of a degree is causing this.

GLOBAL warming is causing apples to lose some of their crunch but is also making them sweeter, a study has found.

Analysing data gathered from 1970 to 2010 at two orchards in Japan, a research team said there was clear evidence that climate change was having an effect on apple taste and texture.? Read more »

This is bad how?

David Farrar blogs about the Climate Change update from the Office of?Prime Minister?s Science Advisory Committee. Being a believer of “Climate Change” and GW he thinks it is reasonable and we should all tug our forelocks.

But I’m not like that. I read comments like this and wonder what the fuss is all about.

The report does, however, make broad predictions for various regions around the country over coming decades, outlining wind, temperature, rainfall and seasonal extremes.

It said by the turn of the next century, Auckland would enjoy 40 warm days above 25C each year.

Really struggling to see how that is a problem.

In the South Island, frosts in coastal spots would be rare by 2050

Yep, still no problems that I can see. ? Read more »
