Dirty Politics by committee

We all know that Nicky Hager has told us that skillfully and effectively influencing the media to push a certain political agenda has only been achieved by the National Party. The National Party he said, were only able to achieve what they did with the help of influential and popular right-wing Bloggers who would hand interesting stories on a platter to journalists who were happy to take the credit and reduce their workloads. The Labour Party clearly read the book cover to cover because as we wrote about earlier this year they were canvassing their supporters by e-mail for sob stories on certain topics like housing which would then a few weeks later mysteriously appear in the media.

The Labour Party are not the only political group to think that if the right can influence voters then they can too. A group called ActionStation have decided to have a go at influencing the media themselves. Unlike the original Dirty Politics masters, however, they have eschewed dark smoke-filled rooms for their strategy sessions and have instead  decided to plot by committee.

What could possibly go wrong?

A Newspaper’s website went down and nobody cared

The NZ Herald or as referred to commonly on this Blog ‘A Newspaper’ has a problem with ever declining circulation. They are struggling to even give their papers away. Only last week we received a card in our mailbox offering free copies.

The future luckily is in online news and The Herald has an online site that is currently free but is expected to eventually go behind a paywall. The online version of The Herald is currently in competition with its dead tree version. Why would you pay for old out-of-date news on paper when you can get it constantly updated online for free?

When the website went down recently one would have expected that it would have been missed but one would be wrong. A Newspaper’s readers were not slow to make their feelings clear in a number of hilarious one liners.

Islamic dictionary for Westerners or what do they mean when they say…

R32-DicIslamicTerms

In an earlier post I wrote about how the word ‘innocents ‘ means something very different to Islam than it does to us. When Muslims say that they are against the killing of innocents after a terrorist attack we think they mean the people who were massacred in the attack. In fact just by being non-Muslim ( Infidels ) we are not considered innocents by Islam. In other words they are saying that they are against the killing of Muslims. This is a huge deception that is being played on the West repeatedly. Their choice of words when condemning terrorism is very telling. You will see the word innocents used again and again in statements online on television and in the dead tree media. ‘Innocents,’ however is not the only word that we in the West are deceived by.

Face of the day

Rachael ' Serious ' Smalley

Rachel ‘ Serious ‘ Smalley

Rachel Smalley says it’s not OK.

What is she talking about?

Domestic violence?

Islamic Extremism?

That murdering Pedophile being returned to us from Brazil?

Nope, none of the above.

She, as a ‘ serious, ‘ journalist has decided that Cameron (a Journalist ) should not communicate with the PM by text and that the PM should not be communicating by text with him. Why? Well her reasoning is outlined in an article filled with defamation. Every accusation she makes against Cam is defamatory and a smear. No doubt she is secure in the knowledge that if Nicky Hager can get way with unproven allegations  after using a Journalist’s stolen correspondence, then so can she.

She revels in her freedom of speech and says what ever nasty unproven things that she likes about Cameron. He, however in her opinion does not have that same right. If he attacks someones character then that is toxic behaviour and he should be stopped but it is quite OK for her to say things like….

…the country’s most ruthless blogger, the man who stops at nothing to attack, undermine or manipulate anyone who opposes the National Party

vile revelations that came out about Slater and the frightening ways with which he tried to shut people down, people who opposed the National Party or people who were critical of it

Of course ‘ serious ‘ journalists should be free to talk about about Cameron Slater all that they like. They are allowed to talk to him, interview him, text him, get stories off him and write about him because Cameron Slater is money in the bank. Cameron Slater sells dead tree media and Cameron Slater ups readership, viewership. listenership and ratings. Let’s face it no matter what adjectives you use to describe him he has the readership, he has the influence and maddeningly ,unlike ‘ serious ‘ journalist Smalley he has access to the PM’s ear although John Key will probably now throw him under the bus like he did Judith Collins. Key is nothing if not pragmatic. He will do whatever it takes to shut down attacks from the Media on himself or his government.

The Labour party’s Andrew Little is fortunate that the MSM are not interested in Left Wing Blogger Josh Forman and his Blog Slightly Left of Centre. If they were they could attack him for his Deputies close relationship with him. They could ask Annette for a copy of her texts to Josh and ask when she was last in contact with him. They could find out who leaked the e-mail between him and Cameron to Annette so that it could be used to try to frame questions to John Key in the house. They could do a little research and discover that Josh lost his job this week for leaking information to the Labour Party.

In fact it has all the ingredients for a great scandal but there is only one problem with this tale of Dirty Politics, it doesn’t suit their agenda.

The Standard have gone so far as to state that Josh Forman and his Blog are actually both Cameron Slater. I really don’t know where Cameron finds the time. Just being him is enough work but being Josh and writing a whole other Blog as well, that’s just CRAZY talk but that is The Standard for you.

I am sure that Josh Forman right now, is wishing that he was, just a figment of Cameron’s imagination. He thought he was so clever trying to Trojan horse, New Zealand’s most popular Blogger.

Nothing personal Josh, it’s just politics, under the bus you go.

Let’s come up with some new adjectives to describe the MSM

When Cam was the Editor of a MSM newspaper the MSM still referred to him as Attack Blogger Cameron Slater or Controversial Blogger Cameron Slater or Right Wing Controversial or attack Blogger Cameron Slater. Many of the e-mails taken by the hacker were working e-mails from when he was employed as an Editor and were between him and his many contacts and sources.

After a respected High Court Judge declared Cameron a Journalist the MSM still refused to call him a journalist. When Nicky Hager used information stolen from Cameron it was not reported as a writer of a book based on a Journalist’s stolen information but as a respected Investigative Journalist reporting on a nasty attack blogger! No doubt the fact that Nicky admitted to deliberately leaving out of the book all the journalists who regularly worked with Cameron and shared information with him ensured that he got nothing but positive press about his commercial venture. After all, he protected their skins, so they had to return the favour or be tarred with the Dirty Politics brush.

No doubt when Freed starts giving the MSM a good old fashioned thrashing, pants down they will still refer to him as a Blogger using one of the above adjectives.

No doubt even as they are forced to lay off journalists and tighten their collective belts while giving away even more copies of their outdated and behind the times product they will continue to get a sense of satisfaction from their adjectives.

Well I say why should they have all the fun?

Time to start a collection of adjectives of our own.
