Now we know why the Green Taliban are so paranoid about an oil spill

Seashepherd_small_pt

It is times like this that remind me why I love working on the Whale Oil blog. Exposing the other side of the story that the stale and stagnant mainstream media in this country refuse to or simply don’t bother covering if it doesn’t fit their left wing agenda. And although some hate it, the power of social media plays a large part too which is how I stumbled upon this little gem.

The MSM in this country is always waiting for a chance to put on the Green Taliban spin every time an incident happens involving Greenpeace or Sea Shepherd, but sometimes it is the organisations themselves putting out the spin due to the silence of other media on ‘other matters’ which they’d rather we not hear about.

See, what they want you to know is this: Read more »

Pirates don’t like it up ’em

I see 3News was running unedited pirate propaganda from the Sea She[herd pirates last night.

The NZ Herald in its bid to corner the market on cuddling international criminals is also running their lines where the poor petals are upset about an apparent attempt by the Japanese fleet to disable their ships with cables.

Anti-whaling group Sea Shepherd says one of its ships has been rammed by a Japanese whaling vessel.

The Bob Barker was hit by the harpoon vessel, the Yushin Maru 2, when it crossed in front of its bow in sub-Antarctic waters just before 9am (NZT), the group said.

The incident was a part of an attack by the Japanese whaling fleets’ three harpoon vessels, on the Sea Shepherd ships, The Steve Irwin and The Bob Barker, which began about about 2am, Sea Shepherd said.

“The assault is an attempt to deter the Sea Shepherd ships from their current position, blocking the slipway of the Nisshin Maru, preventing the whalers from loading whales poached from the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary.”

During the clashes, which were continuing into afternoon, the whaling vessels had also made consecutive attempts to tangle the propellers of the Sea Shepherd ships by dragging steel cable across the bow of the conservation ships, a Sea Shepherd spokesman said.? Read more »

Greenpeace hippy-crite loves oil based products

We have covered?Niamh O’Flynn and her crazy and often useless antics on this blog before.

She is a Greenpeace spokes-hippy and loves to protest all about oil. Here a couple of her pals with a very good warning.

It is a warning she appears to be ignoring as she parties with her friends and enjoying the sampling of what look to me to be oil-based products…plastic and rubber certainly contain oil.? Read more »

Green Tailban ratbags now moaning about Russian prison life

I see the Green Tailban eco-terrorists are moaning about their treatment in a Russian prison…predictable.

A Greenpeace campaigner claims he was forced to live on bread and water while being held in a Russian prison because it didn’t offer a vegetarian alternative.

Antony Perrett arrived home yesterday after spending two months in prisons in Murmansk and St Petersburg for trying to hang a climate change banner on an oil rig.

The former town councillor is one a group of environmental activists known as the Arctic 30 who were being held in Russia on hooliganism charges.

Since being released under a new amnesty law, the 33-year-old has revealed he refused to eat some of the food offered to him behind bars.

‘All the prison food had low grade meat of unknown origin in it. I’m a vegetarian and I lost a lot of weight,’ he said from his home in Newport, South Wales.

Perrett said he passed his time in the rodent-infested jails by doing drawings with paper and pencils sent in a Greenpeace parcel, and communicating with other prisoners by whistling.

‘We were not 100 per cent isolated but we were in cells 23 hours a day. We would have one hour to exercise in a four metre square cell with no roof.

‘We would shout over the wall and speak to different people every day, some days they would be Russian and some days they would be crew mates.’

‘We chatted and stuff and whistled the Great Escape, that was kind of a farewell.’ ? Read more »

Creepy Greenpeace ratbags scaring the kids again for Christmas

Greenpeace really are scurrilous lying ratbags, now they are trying to scare the kids by spreading lies about climate change using Santa Claus.

As is usual it is nothing more than lies and mis-truths dressed up as a begging appeal for a greedy global corporate built on those lies and a foundation of hypocrisy. ? Read more »

Rodney Hide on the Green taliban

Rodney Hide points out in the Herald on Sunday that Greenpeace have only themselves to blame for the predicament of their pirates hooligans.

Greenpeace writes up the activists as a cross between Batman and Wonder Woman. And here’s the logic: Politics doesn’t work. We are powerless. Greed is dictating outcomes. Time is running out. We need to even the playing field. Give voice to the voiceless. We must act. That’s the propaganda of demagoguery. Greenpeace says its activists act with the “courage of their conviction” and “take full responsibility for their actions”. And that they “bend rules” and “push boundaries”.

Well, they may have bent one too many rules and pushed one boundary too far. It’s the Russian Government they have tangled with. It’s not known for being a soft touch. But not to worry, the activists have the “courage of their conviction” and “take full responsibility for their actions”.

That means accepting the consequences. That’s looking like a long spell in prison. That’s what it means when you put your “own personal liberty on the line”.

Of course, Greenpeace could do peaceful protest against Arctic drilling by standing outside the Russian Embassy. But that wouldn’t titillate the news. Such a protest would not be reported. Far better to be boarding a rig, with protest banners and embedded journalists. That’s news.

It is also likely to mean a spell in some pretty hard prisons. The Russians are immune to public relations campaigns.

And that’s money. Greenpeace is a multinational organisation that rakes in hundreds of millions of dollars. It does so by endless protest and always upping the ante to secure headlines. The Russian Government taking the Greenpeace 30 captive and charging them is gold to Greenpeace. It will give them continuous news coverage, endless opportunities to protest, and flood their coffers with donations. It doesn’t do anything to make the planet a better place. But then that’s not its point.

Greenpeace are corporate hypocrites.

Russians deal to Greenpeace ratbags

The Russians know how to properly deal with eco-terrorists Greenpeace…they just took their ship?after firing a few warning shots.

Greenpeace says 29 activists, including six Britons, are being held at gunpoint by Russian security officers who stormed the group’s ship in the Arctic.

One of the activists told the BBC that about 15 men in balaclavas seized the Arctic Sunrise ship in the Barents Sea.

This comes a day after four Greenpeace members tried to board a Russian oil platform to prevent it from drilling.

The group says this threatens a unique and fragile environment – a claim denied by Moscow.

Speaking to the BBC on Thursday, one activist on the ship said Greenpeace members were being held in the galley of the Arctic Sunrise, while the captain was being detained on the bridge.? Read more »
