The Robson Affair – Anderton's Office lies

I just received this reply to an email complaint to Jim Anderton’s office.

Subject: RE: Matt Robson’s Comments

Dear J C

Mr Anderton is now out of Wellington for the remainder of the election campaign and so I am replying to your message on his behalf.

I have looked into the question you have raised and it is abundantly clear that Mr Robson’s actions and words were deliberately distorted in their reporting for hostile political purposes.  The question of a rebuke does
not, therefore, arise.

I would once more refer you to mr Robson if you wish to know what actually transpired.

Clearly from the video Matt Robson makes a deliberaqte slur agains Sen. McCain and his injuries. Watch the video again and see if Robson’s despicable comments have been deliberately distorted.

Robson gleeful over McCain's wartime torture

Everyone knows how I honour our soldiers and despise those who dismiss their sacrifice. I have a new person who has been permanently added to my shit list.

Matt Robson.

The other night on Backbenchers Matt Robson joked gleefully that Jim Anderton, his party leader, who is also the same as John McCain could at least lift his arms over his head to celebrate.

This is disgusting on so many levels. Firstly because The progressives are a support party for our Governemnt and Matt Robson is its Deputy leader and a former Minister himself. Secondly, Jim Anderton sits in cabinet and is a representative of the government, thirdly because it is extremely disrectful of a soldiers sacrifice and fourthly because when confronted with this appaling opinion he justified the almost daily torture that John McCain received at the hands of our enemy on the basis that he deserved it. The man is a sicko.

Here is the video.

Jim Anderton needs to whole-heartedly apologise  to john McCain and to every veteran who served in Vietnam for such an egregious slight against their sacrifice.

John McCain on the Georgian Crisis

I have been watching with mounting concern the blatent and naked aggression of Russia towards it’s neighbour and sovreign nation Georgia.

Make no mistake Russia is gong for a regime change, a land grab and trying to nobble NATO at the same time.

Sen. John McCain has written an article for the Wall Street Journal and he echoes all of my thoughts.

For anyone who thought that stark international aggression was a thing of the past, the last week must have come as a startling wake-up call. After clashes in the Georgian region of South Ossetia, Russia invaded its neighbor, launching attacks that threaten its very existence. Some Americans may wonder why events in this part of the world are any concern of ours. After all, Georgia is a small, remote and obscure place. But history is often made in remote, obscure places.

Exactly. He then explains why he is suspicious of the Russian motives.

Two years ago, I traveled to South Ossetia. As soon as we arrived at its self-proclaimed capital — now occupied by Russian troops — I saw an enormous billboard that read, “Vladimir Putin, Our President.” This was on sovereign Georgian territory.

Russian claims of humanitarian motives were further belied by a bombing campaign that encompassed the whole of Georgia, destroying military bases, apartment buildings and other infrastructure, and leaving innocent civilians wounded and killed. As the Russian Black Sea Fleet began concentrating off of the Georgian coast and Russian troops advanced on one city after another, there could be no doubt about the nature of their aggression.

Despite a French-brokered cease-fire — which worryingly does not refer to Georgia’s territorial integrity — Russian attacks have continued. There are credible reports of civilian killings and even ethnic cleansing as Russian troops move deeper into Georgian territory.

Essentially Russia is annexing Georgia. Saddam Hussein did this in Kuwait and we went to war. This situation is almost identical. People in this part of the world live hard and Russian aggression makes that living even harder.

John McCain on "The Surge"

November 2007 photo of McCain in Baghdad with ...

John McCain has today shown Obama what a numpty he is in a piece about the Surge.

If you remember rightly John McCain actually proposed the surge and Obama opposed it saying that it would “increase sectarian violence, and called for our troops to retreat as quickly as possible.”

Of course history has now proven Obama and the Defeatocrats wrong on Iraq in a most spectacular fashion. General Petraeus has clearly destroyed the isurgency and provided security the populace of Iraq.

Not only that he goes on to give Obama a handy little lecture on strategy. He clearly shows why the US needs him and not a paper cut-out for a President.
