No period poverty at WSU; it’s all free now, guys

CampusReform

Campus Reform reports: Quote.

In an effort to demonstrate its “commitment to inclusivity,” Washington State University has begun stocking men’s restrooms with free menstrual products.

The initiative is one of many focusing on “improving the transgender community experience on campus,” and is currently being tested in three restrooms on the Pullman, Wash. campus. The university is in the process of “assessing similar needs” at other WSU campuses to determine which men’s rooms will receive new accommodations. End quote.

Free shaving foam and safety razors in the women’s? (At least they could find a use for that!) Quote. Read more »

That really does sound a little queer

Celine Ryan writes for Campus Reform. Quote.

This school year, students across the country will attend courses on “Queering the Bible,” “Queering Childhood,” “Queering Theology,” and similar topics.

Students at Pomona College in Claremont, California, for instance, will have the opportunity to enroll in a brand new course titled “Queering Childhood,” which will examine “the figure of the Child and how this figuration is used by politics, law, and medicine to justify continued cultural investment in reproductive heteronormativity and productive ablebodiedness.

The course description explains that students will examine the childhoods of “queer and crip children,” as well as “childhoods against which the figure of the Child is articulated,” with reference to work related to “gender studies, childhood studies, disability studies, and queer theory.” End of quote.

Can someone please explain why cultural investment in productive, able-bodied, heterosexual relationships producing children should be questioned?  Does this not describe the vast majority of the population? Quote. Read more »

So now it’s all about ability

A South Island principal says some boys are missing out because of a lack of male primary school teachers.

But the Ministry of Education says it’s about the quality of teaching, not the gender of the teacher.

Really? About quality teaching now is it?

[…]The Kaitangata Primary School teacher says your gender doesn’t make you a better teacher, but he says it’s important students have both female and male role models.

“For a lot of the children at schools and inner city schools where I’ve taught, you’d be the only positive male in the family, if not the only male that was present in their lives, and I think that’s crucial.”

Good point.

SJB: Public Restrooms are Sexist!

[..] For as long as I can remember, I’ve been lining up to use the loo. At weddings, festivals, gigs, sports; any large public event with gender-specific toilets, and the women’s line will snake around the block. “What do you ladies DO in there,” you’ll sometimes hear Dwayne from accounts chuckle. “You take FOREVER.”

Contrary to commonly held belief, we are not gushing over the guy at the bar or swapping lipstick tips (though this sometimes happens, too.) What we’re mostly doing is what we came to do; pee.

Ok, women use the bathroom more than men. Got it.

When Brenda heard the news, truth about the botched circumcision she cut her hair and changed her name to David. In order to undo the changes David’s body had gone through as Brenda with estrogen therapy, he had a double mastectomy as well as surgeries to construct male genitals, and began receiving testosterone injections.

A Tale of Sex Science and Abuse

The Boy Who Was Raised as A Girl

On 22 August 1965 Janet Reimer was granted her dearest wish: she gave birth to twins. The two boys, Brian and Bruce, were healthy babies, but they would lead tragic lives, blighted by one scientist’s radical theory. Bruce would later rename himself David.

David Reimer was one of the most famous patients in the annals of medicine. The story of David is a terribly sad one. He had also been both a boy and a girl, thanks to one of the darker episodes in the history of pseudoscientific hubris. David was born as a boy named Bruce. He had an identical twin, Brian. David had to undergo a transformation that he had no say in when he was just a baby.

David, and his brother each had a minor medical problem involving his penis, and a doctor decided to treat the problem with circumcision. The doctor botched the circumcision on David, using an inappropriate method and accidentally burning off virtually David’s entire penis. A malfunction in the doctor’s equipment (electrocautery needle) caused the needle to burn Reimer’s penis from tip to base.

The Reimers were left with a dilemma: a son with no penis. They visited several medical experts who assured them that penile reconstruction would prove worthless. The Reimers were at a loss as to how to help David. Most of his penis was burned off, and reconstructive surgery was too primitive at the time to restore it. Dr. John Money, a sexologist at Johns Hopkins University, persuaded Reimer’s parents to have their son completely castrated and raised as a girl that they renamed Brenda.

David’s parents (farm adolescents barely out of their teens) were referred to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, home of the world’s leading expert in gender identity, psychologist Dr. John Money, who recommended a surgical sex change, from male to female. David’s parents eventually agreed to the radical procedure, believing Dr. Money’s claims that this was their sole hope for raising a child who could have heterosexual intercourse—albeit as a sterile woman with a synthetic vagina and a body feminized with estrogen supplements.

Politically correct language defined by Whaleoil: Part One

There are so many politically correct words these days that would benefit from a Whaleoil dictionary definition so that we can understand fully what they really mean.

Diversity: This does not mean diverse ideas or diverse experience. Diversity is a code word for including people with coffee-coloured skin and if they are also female that is even better. Bonus points are awarded if they are from a culture that has very different values to the majority culture.

Let boys be boys for goodness sake

Australian commentator Miranda Devine has hit the nail on the head with her opinion piece entitled ‘Stop telling boys to act like girls’. On the one hand we have anti-white conferences run by white people and attended by white people and, on the other hand, a growing agenda to cause gender confusion amongst our youth and to demonise our men. It is a society gone mad.

IN this era of women-only parking, women-only trains, women-only apartments and transgender bathrooms, it seems the only acceptable man is a man who wants to be a woman.

The job of pathologising masculinity continues apace.

There’s the government’s new domestic violence campaign which portrays little boys as aggressive misogynists.

There’s the undergraduate newspaper Honi Soit, which claims that rugby teams at private boys’ schools foster a “rape culture”.

Face of the day

Davina Ayrton

PHOTO-PA Davina Ayrton

Today’s face of the day is a transgender woman, Davina Ayrton, who raped a teenager before he started living life as a woman. She is being sent to a male prison as she has male plumbing. Given her history of rape she would be a threat to women in a female prison.

Those who promote transgender rights in prison would argue that she is in danger of rape in a male prison. We discussed transgender toilets yesterday. Do we now need transgender prisons? Even then they would have to be segregated by actual gender to lessen the threat of rape. Gay men and women are sent to prison based on their gender not their sexual orientation. Should we have gay prisons too? It is a serious question. Rape is a horrendous crime. How do we punish criminals without putting them in even more danger than they already are inside a prison?

Politically correct council hoist by their own petard

images
In the good old days toilets and changing rooms were pretty simple. We lived in a world where it was acknowledged that there were only two genders, male and female. Nowadays however, the number of genders is constantly being updated and extended. What used to be incredibly simple, has now become incredibly complex. Where common sense once ruled, political correctness has taken its place. A person’s right to change in a room surrounded by people with the same biological body as themselves is now under attack. Nothing illustrates the insanity of political correctness quite like this story.

Being Trans Gender is cool but not if you identify with being a White Male

In today’s world we have even more labels for people to define themselves. The latest one is Transgender.

Transgender people experience a mismatch between their gender identity or gender expression and their assigned sexTransgender is also an umbrella term because, in addition to including trans men and trans women whose binary gender identity is the opposite of their assigned sex (and who are sometimes specifically termed transsexual if they desire medical assistance to transition), it may include genderqueer people (whose identities are not exclusively masculine or feminine, but may, for example, be bigender, pangender or agender).Other definitions include third-gender people as transgender or conceptualize transgender people as a third gender, and infrequently the term is defined very broadly to include cross-dressers.

…Being transgender is independent of sexual orientation; transgender people may identify as heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, asexual, etc., or may consider conventional sexual orientation labels inadequate or inapplicable.

Universities and other places of tertiary learning are usually very big on diversity and acceptance of every shade of gender or colour under the sun. But in a hilarious twist a woman who is Trans gender is being attacked and is experiencing prejudice because she identifies with being a white male. It seems that despite all the ‘ enlightenment ‘ there is one gender and race it is still not okay to be.
