A restaurant in the UK?has been busted for serving horse instead of zebra…and there is an outcry over the deception…imagine the outcry if they’d actually served zebra instead of wonky donkey meat.

Excuse my existential dilemma as I wipe the pork fat from my lips and devour a chicken leg before tossing the bone to the pooch at my feet. Lucky hound – how did he get to be domesticated rather than filleted anyway? Best not take him on holiday to Asia.

This is quite funny. ?A concerned Iceland Government decides to check for horse meat in its meat pies and discovers they’ve been keeping the price low in a completely different way.

Icelandic meat inspector Kjartan Hreinsson says his team didn’t find any horsemeat, but one brand of locally produced beef pie left it stumped: it contained no meat at all.

“That was the peculiar thing,” Hreinsson said in a telephone interview Friday. “It was labelled as beef pie, so it should be beef pie.” ? Read more »

In South Africa they have found out that they?have?been eating donkey and water buffalo burgers instead of beef.

Research released this week found that donkey, water buffalo and other unconventional ingredients had been found in almost two-thirds of hamburgers and sausages tested in Africa’s largest?economy.

With the European Horse meat scandal in full swing, the butchers that sell “the other red meat” are doing a roaring trade as Britons are curious:

“While people are putting horse into their shopping cart on the website they are also putting in things like zebra, llama and alpaca,” said Paul Webb, director of central England-based speciality meat supplier Exotic Meats.

Burger King reveals its burgers contained horsemeat
