The Opportunities Party on Immigration and New Zealand’s Refugee Quota

Yesterday I contacted National, Labour, Act, The Maori Party, NZ First, the Greens, the Opportunities Party, the Conservatives and United Future to ask them all three questions. The first Party to respond to my questions was The Opportunities party. Below are my questions and their answers in full and un-edited.

Question:

The perception of many of our readers is that left-of-centre political parties prefer immigrants from low socio-economic countries who are highly dependent on the state and poorly educated because immigrants like that will naturally vote for the left-of-centre parties who allowed them in. Which immigrants get priority under your party’s policy and why?

Question seven: If ACT, NZ First or National made strong changes to immigration policy that you liked, would that be enough to retain or gain your vote next election?

immigration1

My motivation for creating a survey on immigration was to get an accurate snapshot of what a  Conservative/ Libertarian voter  thinks about immigration in New Zealand. I wanted this snap shot  primarily for David Seymour  as he commented that the small changes Act had proposed for immigration did not gain any support from this blog and resulted in a lot of negativity from the media.

Winston Peters of course has always been vocal about immigration, I hope this survey gives him some insight on what our real concerns about immigration are. Are we anti-immigration? Or do we think immigration is a good thing?

John Key likes to implement policies that will be popular with voters so he too should find this survey useful.I think he will be surprised at what it shows.

Due to our large audience we easily surveyed over one thousand voters in less than a day. This survey is not of the general population but of a specific conservative/libertarian audience. I gave two yes options and two no options for every  question.

Here are the results for question seven: If the Act Party, NZ First or the National Party made strong changes to immigration that you liked would that be a policy popular enough to retain or gain your vote next election?

How do our political parties’ immigration policies compare?

Immigration policies from all conservative political parties are listed below with links to their policy details at the end. I have also included non-conservative parties so that you can compare.

To help with this process I have summarised their policies. It is interesting to me that the Green party have much harsher guidelines and rules for migrants who bring money to New Zealand than they do for migrants who bring nothing but themselves. ACT on the other hand want to encourage migrant investors as do National. Surprisingly though, National have no policy details regarding NZ values/culture, citizenship, residency or NZ laws with regard to migrants.

Take the Whaleoil survey on Immigration

immigration1

I have created a survey on immigration so that Whaleoil readers can tell our politicians what it is that they want. David Seymour, John Key and Winston Peters need to know what it is that conservative / libertarian voters like us want. This is your opportunity to tell them. I will discuss the results in another post.

This survey allows comments of up to a paragraph in length.

What is happening to Andrew Bolt is the exact reason why we need ACT to act

David+Seymour+ACT+Party+Conference+H-Fu08aFAynl

I am thrilled that David Seymour  is prepared to discuss immigration with the Whaleoil community. He mentioned that when he has attempted minor changes to immigration he has been attacked by the media and not supported  by us. What is currently happening to courageous Andrew Bolt in Australia is exactly the reason why I want the ACT party to act more strongly on immigration. The reality is that anyone who points out the serious problems within Islamic culture will be attacked, not only by the media but by people within the Muslim community. This cannot be a reason for the National party and the ACT party to do nothing. Instead, it has to be the reason why they make strong immigration policy a priority.

It is clear that when we criticise Islam we risk death. We need politicians like Geert Wilders who are prepared to put their country’s safety first. Like Andrew Bolt, we here at Whaleoil have put ourselves at risk by criticising Islam. I expect the political party I support to be prepared to do the same. Nothing worth having is ever easy. I will support and promote in my personal posts on Whaleoil any political party with strong immigration policies regarding Islam. Copying the Swiss policy regarding citizenship and assimilation would be a good start.

Andrew Bolt says he has moved children out of family home after death threats

Bolt says threats came from Islamic State supporter and follows his newspaper column for Herald Sun which suggested if ‘we criticise Islam … we risk death’

Andrew Bolt says his children have had to be moved out of the family home after receiving death threats from a supporter of Islamic State.

The News Corp columnist made the revelation on Thursday night during an interview with Pauline Hanson on his Sky News Australia program, The Bolt Report.

“I just spent some of my day moving my kids out of my home after yet another death threat from an Islamist supporter of Islamic State,” a visibly upset Bolt told Hanson.

“Two of my colleagues have had to move house completely because of these guys.”

White Britons now the minority in London

LUTON TOWN CENTER.

The Labour Party’s push to increase immigration has changed London’s population. The National census which looked at change over a decade has revealed that London’s racial and religious mix has changed significantly. Christians used to make up 58 percent of the population but now they have dropped to 48 percent. In only ten years Muslims have increased from 8 percent to 12 percent. In contrast Hindus only make up 5 percent, Jews 2 percent and Buddhists 1 percent.

Only days ago London has voted in its first ever Muslim Mayor and now the census has revealed that White Britons have dropped from 58 percent of London’s population to 45 percent, an astounding drop of 13 percent in only ten years. Is this White flight or have migrants simply outnumbered them thanks to the Labour Party’s immigration policies?

Half of London’s foreign born residents arrived between 2001 and 2011, reflecting the surge in immigration under Labour and the first years of David Cameron’s premiership.

For those who may think that it is racist to comment on the changing face of London consider this. What if it was the capital city of China or Japan and ethnic Chinese and Japanese had become the minority? That is a big deal. Japan and China are Asian countries just as England is a European country. Imagine if an African country’s capital city now had ethnic black Africans in the minority? When the native population becomes the minority then a country has been colonised and it will never be the same again. This is history being made.

So what exactly are the “new rules” for potential immigrants?

• Skilled workers who take jobs in the regions will have bonus points bumped up from an extra 10 to an extra 30 points.

• Those who set up businesses outside Auckland will be given 40 extra points, doubled from the current 20. Read more »

6 year olds told to think of western woman as “white prostitutes”

The UK / Birmingham public “Trojan Horse” school debacle is getting messier and messier.

Pupils as young as six were taught to treat Western women as ‘white prostitutes’ by a school at the centre of the ‘Trojan Horse’ Islamist plot.

The shocking disclosure comes ahead of two bombshell reports into claims Muslim radicals conspired to infiltrate governing bodies of Birmingham schools.

A leaked copy of one report says teachers at Oldknow Academy told school inspectors they were alarmed by the use of terms such as ‘white prostitute’ and ‘hellfire’ in school assemblies, and that non-Muslim teachers were banned from being present.

I wonder how Muslim integration is going for the Brits?

Well-placed sources have told The Mail on Sunday that the term ‘white prostitute’ was used to suggest to pupils that Muslim women were moral but non-Muslim women were not.

Oldknow Academy, which has around 600 pupils, is said to have been the subject of a gradual takeover by extremists, who allegedly pushed out head teacher, Bhupinder Kondal, because she opposed the ‘Islamisation’ of the school.

Officially, Mrs Kondal is on sick leave, and she refused to discuss the matter with The Mail on Sunday.

She clearly feels she can’t speak out in public and remain safe.   Read more »

It couldn’t happen here, could it? (Continued…)

This follows on from this mornings articles, here, and here

Whaleoil has been keeping an eye on the trouble poor immigration policy is causing in other countries, especially where immigrants don’t integrate and, for all intents and purposes, try to set up a mini-country of their own within another sovereign nation.

This isn’t done by violent uprising. Instead, it uses the power of numbers. All they need is a simply majority on boards, councils or other democratic bodies that make decisions that affect the rest of the population.

But it could never happen here, could it?

[UK Labour Party leader] Ed Miliband is under increasing pressure to take a harder line on immigration after a backbench revolt over Europe’s open borders.

The Labour leader was attacked by seven of his own MPs in an open letter demanding action.

The backbench MPs, including the influential former minister Frank Field, said immigration from Eastern Europe was hitting working class Labour supporters the party was supposed to defend.

The attack came as former Labour Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott called for an end to ‘freedom of movement’ within the EU, further increasing the pressure on Mr Miliband to act.

This is a great indicator that the probems caused by poor immigration policy over the years isn’t going to be fixed by those “in charge”.  In Britain, there is a bottom-up revolt coming from the voters.  Back benchers are feeling it in their constituencies and are now pressuring policy makers to act.

Is it too late now? Read more »
